I am currently in Germany for the Army and I went to Oktoberfest for the second time in my life yesterday and let me tell you this place is tame compared to the mother land because they have different laws they can follow in Germany but none the less if you ever get the chance to experience the real Oktoberfest in Germany don't pass it up.

I was first there in 2012 and they aren't kidding, it's pretty close to the "Home" brauhaus. Even when you walk in, the gift shop in actually on your right. Having actual German grandparents, and living in Milwaukee, a once thriving city for German immigrants, I've grown up with German food. Schnitzel can't be beat, but the Rouladen, Haxe, and one you didn't have, the Sauerbraten were always my favorites! Also a must for the beilage (side dish) are the rotkohl (red cabbage) and either spätzle or knödel, of which there are many types. Another is the bratkartoffeln, which is basically fried potatoes. SOOOOO good. Fortunately, my mostly Sicilian wife has done real well learning how to make these. Glad you both had a blast for Oktoberfest and were able to dine with the VP! Oh, and you took your swat like a champ, I've seen some people buckle with how hard they'll give. Well done!

That is really great to hear the HB LV is close to the original including the food you mentioned. I am German on my dads side, but we don't know much about our roots. I've always been super fascinated by the culture and food though. Visiting Germany would be my first pick if I ever got to travel abroad.

If you are using your iphone or some sort of vlogging camera like the Osmo Pocket 3, I would suggest looking into the DJI Mic 2. The quality on those are excellent!!

I use a g7x and Samsung. I dont think the DJI mic's are compatible with my phone. 😫 This is the 3rd external mic I've tried but failed in the loud environments. I need to just upgrade to a new camera. 🫠

Great clip on mics are either the 32bit Rode Wireless Pro… or the 32bit DJI Mic 2……. They never distort. You just hit record and they just work perfectly. ………. The are worth the price, if it is something you are going to use often
