comptv side note . I have a gtx 1080 oced to 2.2ghz on an Asus tri fan cooler .and an i5 4690k at 4.7 ghz . I can't get above 60 fps average. The game drops fps Into the 30s very commonly and my gpu fans never spin while gaming because the game always stops at 20-30 percent gpu utilization. The game is unoptimized as hell

Cypher99 that is not quite possible my friend i .maybe somtime ago but they did a better job on optimisation with the newest patches.i have an i7 6700 (non k) so no overclock there , 16 gb ddr4 (basic) and 1080 xtreme gaming ,and lately it's very stable staying on 70/80 average(very rare going down to 55/60 for like 0.3 seconds) .what monitor do you have ?

I actually got this PC to! I got it back in February, and slowly upgraded it till it's where it's at now, complete! I'm still running stock case at the moment, though I've got a brand new MSI GTX 1050 , maxed RAM at 16gb 1600, and a brand new 1 tb HDD. it's a pretty good rig! at least for me who came from a true potato laptop. it's a great budget build, and Gmod doesn't doesn't break a sweat. lmao I'm running stock clocks though.

Sure maybe I can play some games now but I haven't even got to the point where I saw the graphics cards I don't know what games that can play. Say if I built the $200 system that can play CS go at 1080p Max settings now in November 2017 would it be able to play the newer Counter-Strike game in 2020 at all?

Something I noticed for overwatch, set the preset to low and go and manually change the settings in advanced. You don't see much difference in terms of visual quality but you get like 1.5x-double the framerate. I don't know if it's just me but it's something I've observed

Gtx 660 is worth bios modding as they tend to have a hard overclock mhz limit which is usually around 1150-1200mhz. Over volting has to be done with bios modding as overclocking apps don't actually effect it but 1.2v should allow a well cooled and very well binned gtx 660 to run 1306mhz.

Well most people don't realise the 600 series are very limited so much so Nvidia relaunched it under the 700 series branding with higher clocks. The most important part about overclocking the 660ti is maxing out the memory clock due to the lack of a memory controller present in the 670.

I won an HP Compaq 6005 pro on Ebay for 45$ with 8gb of ram, 500gb of hhd space, and it came installed with an AMD Athlon 2 x4 cpu. I'm using it as a budget gaming computer, is it a good find for the money, and will it perform on popular games like csgo, and overwatch? What kind of frames will I be getting on medium, to low settings?

I remember when I spent hours upon hours on my cable management on my builds just because I thought that if I didn't it would result in a lot of heating issues if I didn't have at least decent cable management, then I watched the video that Linus made about how even the worst cable management won't increase heat, after that day I just shoved all my cables in my builds and called it a day lmfao.
