@conifercrow10 ай бұрын
@@mercedesvelasquez8781 Do you open them in a vacuum? If the answer is no, then you're exposing product to air. Some things break down fairly quickly with air exposure. Just look at how some pigments oxidize in air -- ever had a foundation that does some sort of weird alien color morph and goes three shades lighter or darker after an hour on your face? That's a minor air exposure issue. Some ingredients oxidize slowly, but can degrade or become inert from air. The airless pump thing minimizes that and lets you use more of your product before it goes bad AND lets the packaging be recycled. Sneering about being smart enough to use a cabinet minimized the actual benefit to this type of packaging...even if we're also smart enough to use a cabinet for storage. What gets me is how anyone can see Bethany Frankel as an intelligent source of literally anything. Just because someone is famous for being messy on-camera doesn't mean they have special knowledge of anything at all other than being messy on camera. It's safe to ignore that boneheadded twink's "education" about an industry she has no experience or training in.

Roasted chestnuts are a popular snack food in Korea - you can get them from a little snack stand in any subway station in Seoul or from a street vendor. They do have a taste that is somewhat sweet and maybe a tiny bit nutty/beany, kind of like if a chickpea and a white sweet potato had a baby.

Is it the same thing, or is it water chestnut? If it's a bit crisp in texture then I'm guessing water chestnut. In America most stores have water chestnuts in canned form for use in recipes. This calendar looks like a treasure trove. And yes, in my experience, if your face burns when trying to moisturise, it is a sign of a very thirsty skin. My personal go to is face toner for sensitive skin used as often as possible, and no make up for a few days. A good face moisturiser, alcohol free, scent-free, and usually all vegan (because I'm allergic to animal fats, and they are very popular in skin products for very dry skin) is essential.

As much as I love makeup and think it’s super fun, I’m a firm believer that skincare is more important than makeup. I mean if your skin doesn’t look good your makeup won’t look good, so the more skincare heavy calendars don’t bother me (unless it’s advertised as a makeup calendar) so I think this one is really good compared to a lot of other ones where you get tiny samples of expensive products. Hey Alex - you mentioned how your face has been super dry and peeling, and I was dealing with a similar situation for 2+ years. I tried so many moisturizers and nothing was helping, until I learned that for me it was due to my moisture barrier being damaged. I started using products specifically targeted towards barrier repair (in particular Krave Beauty's Great Barrier Relief was a GAME CHANGER) and the flakiness and patchiness began to diminish and heal. I'm at the point now where my skin only flakes if it gets super irritated by a product now. Obviously I don't know what you're specifically struggling with, but I wanted to share in case it helps!

So happy you got the Cult Beauty Advent. Your excitement was so nice to see. This advent and the Vogue and the Elemis were the best I've seen, in my opinion. Plus it had baggies!! The only calendar I got was the Elemis one which I love but this year maybe I'll try for the Cult one. Enjoy all the great products. Take care! Love ya 💕💕💕

Chemistry lesson: -ol implies alcohol group in the chemical structure and -al implies an aldehyde group. All sorts of chemical steps to get to the ultimate product of retinoic acid which retinal can get there faster than retinol as it is chemically a step closer

So glad to see this! I've missed your videos! So, retinOl is preventative and retinAl is corrective. I loved all the excitement with this one, great calendar!

As a fellow “skin so dry that lotion burns” girl, I’ve found that the Phytomer Gentle Cleansing Milk is a super gentle not-burny cleanser, if you’re in the market. I sadly also splurge on the Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Repair as my moisturizer now so my skin isn’t as dry and, when it is, it no longer burns. Just thought I’d throw that out there bc I know the pain

You might want to check if the emergency heat on your heat pump is connected to the thermostat. That happened to my son and we figured it out during the first brutal cold snap. Just an overlook during installation, easily corrected.

I bought exactly one advent calendar this year and it was this one. It was EXCELLENT! Definitely worth the $$$

I know the Aldi's by us (southern Michigan) had a candle Advent calendar. Couldn't have been more than $75 because I seriously considered it. But I am no longer allowed to bring home candles... Or soap... Or tea... Or wrapping paper.😅
