Brits and Americans pronounce geyser differently. We say guy-zer. I had to chuckle when Chris kept saying they saw a geezer. Here a geezer refers to a crochety old man. 😄
@alanscott80632 жыл бұрын
In Scotland a guy-zer is a child going round the houses collecting money for fireworks for bonfire night (Look up Guy Fawkes). I went Guysing as a child, knocking on doors and singing a song for some change. Probably not allowed any more, been replaced by trick or treating.

I’ve always called them guy zers as well… Australia. They’re pretty awesome regardless of what you call them eh

Thank you for taking us to Yellowstone!! I got so emotional seeing the buffalos. My daughter and I visited the Museum of Natural History in New York in June. We saw some buffalos and a sign saying that there used to be miljons of them back in the days but almost all of them were killed by men. xoxo

The water in the river is actually warm because the runoff from the geysers goes into the river. So it's actually like bath water.

Awesome vid guys. Once again it is so much fun hearing the different way we pronounce the same words,. A ‘gee-zer’ is typically a fussy old man and a geyser, we pronounc with a long i, gi-zer (or like guy-zer). Just so intriguing and you guys make it all so MUCH FUN! Many Blessings

Too funny, geeser. Geesers are old people, they are guysers.. I spelled them how their pronounced. I live in wyoming, we have been to Yellowstone numerous times, it is so beautiful. Have fun exploring.
@repaid12 жыл бұрын
You got me again with your pronunciation of Geyser which to those of us here is Guy- zer long "Y" or sounds like capitol "I". When you say it it means Old man as in Geezer. I enjoy the differences having traveled like you, but if I am turned away from the screen, I have to peek back to see what it is your looking at LOL.. On first part of video you were wearing hoodies in the frozen air, glad to see that you do indeed have full winter jackets..your gonna need them in your travels in the USA...enjoy your trip..can't wait for your next installments...glad Trudy is back to the trip!

Even in summer, Yellowstone at night can be quite cold. The end of summer and the beginning of the season brings cold nights and the possibility of snow. Happy you did see the big animals which are pretty unique. Yellowstone is a favorite of mine but we only go in summer. Glad you did go even if the weather was not to anyone's liking. Stay safe. Really happy you braved that icy trail to see Yellowstone Falls which is a real highlight of the park! Some Park Rangers do have recordings of certain noises from their park cars, to tell the Bison to leave a roadway when they tend to stop on the road in big numbers and hold up traffic in epic "Bison jams"!

Hello Ambassadors The first thing is the first. Thanks a million for bringing us up this video. I am with you guys on enjoying the scenery and the nature. I am hooked literally these videos of yours. The 2nd is, although I don't wear a hat but still my hats off for Marianne for driving under the icy conditions on top of these mountains 🥵🥵👍👍 3rd is the icy windshield Inside: your breaths release moisture into the air which then cools off enough to turn into ice inside the vehicle on the windshield. I loved the bisons, I did not realize that you could come that close to them. Glad that you kept yourselves in a safe distance nearby DEAR TRUDY. Lastly, I loved the mimics of TURKIYE🇹🇷🇹🇷 and Chris you are an excellent observer of the Nature ( Pamukkale and Urgup Geology). One of my professor in TURKIYE had once said "if you are a good observer, you can make a good Geologist👍👍Chris you ARE one!!👍👍. About the geysers: The eruption depends on the cooler water to start reaching to the boiling temperatures, when that happens the expansion of the gases ( water vapor) happens and creating pressure inside the cavity beneath which causes the eruption. You were so luck to run into that eruption. Everything was so great in this video like the previous ones. I wish you were here because Donna has invited everyone of us for Thanksgiving tomorrow we would have loved to have you here. Be safe, HAPPY THANKSGIVING.Loce from the family💕💕💕🇹🇷🇹🇷

Thank you. That was an amazing experience. The driving through with all the thermal stream coming up through the forest and the bubbling pools brings back memories. Lived in Rotorua for many years and yes! You lose the ability to smell the smell of rotten eggs! Leave for a while and it comes back! Icy pathways. Put thick woolly socks (gumboots socks) over your shoes. Works wonders!

The bison you see in the US are primarily plains bison very majestic. However the larger woods bison can be found in Canada and they are about 350 lbs heavier for an adult male. Huge animals over 2000 lbs. Oh and its pronounced Guyser not geezer….lol.

aw, that brought back so many memories! Drove these roads with a rented RV on my own. EPIC ;)! It was the end of May and got snowed on the first night there and had winter wonderland at the south end of Yellowstone lake. At Faithful it was summer again and at Mammoth it got mad hot. You never know! I saw a lone wolf in Lamar valley as I was taking photos of a massive herd of bison. I also exited that way, even more stunning views. The steam from all the geysers and mud pools etc look just as intense in the summer heat btw. Visitor numbers have gone mad, so definitely a case of going off season! Greetings from miserable damp and cold Ireland!

One of my favourite parks in the US. I hope Eva zu Beck sees this video because she just said in one of her last few videos that she didn't like it at all. I don't think she took the same route as you. When we went through, we didn't see any grizzlies or wolves either but when we left the park at the northern entrance, we soon saw a grizzly and cub and 3 wolves so you may still see some :) As an aside, when we rented a cabin at Custer State Park, we woke to two bison sleeping just off the path to the cabin. We were stranded for several hours because we couldn't get to our car..I'm glad they didn't charge us for a late checkout 😅 Happy and safe driving!
@CLFL142562 жыл бұрын
I am sure Eva referred to the over developmant of Yellowstone, but with the insane numbers of visitors there are not many options, unless entrance is restricted like at Denali. She would not have liked that either, lol. Each to their own. I really appreciated to see all the natural wonders in a safe way, not having to fear to break through some crusts around the pools.
@TREADtheglobe2 жыл бұрын
Yep we are friends with Eva and saw her video ... we have to say that in the peak of summer it would be a little bit like a zoo !! We had the same experience as her in other parks in the summer - if there is so much traffic and so many people it just seems like you are on a conveyor belt moving in formation to see / stop and photograph wildlife ... We had to book a time slot in Yosemite and Arches NP !! But out of season is the best time to visit as there are less people, and you are not being 'organised' and 'moved' and you feel free to go at your own pace. This has to be our top tip to anyone visiting parks. 👍
