I'm pretty sure the truck you put your sticker on was the "flatbed Ford" that was quoted in the Eagles song!!

In your life chat you talked about improving your storytelling,.. but please don't do what other Vanlife KZbinrs do for the sake of storytelling:jumping from one amazing location to another and I'm left wandering how they got there, and what happened in between. After all Vanlife is about the things in between: daily life, searching for the loo or shower, eating in or out, looking for places to park/sleep and places to visit and paper admin and van admin. That's what I like about your vlog: you simply take me along your life and your drive. With this vlog across the States I finally get a feel (at least to some degree) for how huge the distances are because you show a lot of your driving and the landscape outside the windows changing, without taking daylong jumps from one place to the next a few hundred miles further on. Thank you for that. Makes the whole experience more real. Simplicity is still best.

The truck is also in the Take it Easy song. It is the next line after Standing on the Corner in Winslow, AZ. It’s a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowin down to take a look at me. Great video, enjoying this series!

You were very close to the only point in the US where you can be in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona at the same time! Even my Cousin who lived in Oregon didn't know that! 😁 Having a good Screen cover that goes on the outside would stop Frost and Condensation in the Van! Ours is great! 😁

I went through this part of the US when I was almost 4 YO. My father was an Earth Science teacher and would get National Science Foundation grants in the summers to go "out west" (I'm originally from New Jersey) for geological digs. The last one he ever did was in 1970 and for this last time, he took all of us (Mom, older brother (8 at the time) and younger brother (a little over 2 YO). We went through the Petrified Forest there. At that time, you could take the petrified wood so I actually have a piece of the wood somewhere in my stuff. Thanks for showing this part of the US off. You are making us want to go out and see these places. I want to go see it again.

Your trip on Route 66 makes me want to watch "Cars" again! 😁 The Jack Rabbit curio shop was my favorite kind of tourist trap as a kid. The red truck in Winslow is another reference to the same Eagles song: "It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed Ford, slowin' down to take a look at me." Looking forward to your next episode!! ❤️❤️😎👍xx

Hello Ambassadors As always I loved it. I am sure most of the Geologists who are watching your Videos are also loving it. Every where you go you find these geological spots. If I were in the national park there myself, I would not guarantee that I would not remove a little souvenir for myself for a momento. 😂😂. Ok, I go back a little That was a joke folks. We should all respect to these sites which are valuable for gaining information about the Earth's history. Thank you guys! Love you both! Happy New Year🎉🎉🎉

I was traveling your same route in Sept. It was my first time going to the Petrified Forest and I spent the night right at the end of the park in the free campsite park-ups at the souvenier shop. The shop had some beautiful art work done from the petrified wood. I had one of the best night sleeps, it was so quiet and the stars were just awesome that night. I also then made my way up to the Grand Canyon. I'm going back to Az. in Jan. to attend the Bob Wells/HOWA RTR(Rubber Tramp Rendevous), it will be my first time. Got some good rain here yesterday, So. Calif. sure needs and there is more on the way! Enjoy the Baja life, take care.

Northern Arizona is flat with some mountain ranges. Vegetation is scrubby with low cacti and planted Cottonwood Trees, Willows, Fruitless Mulberry Trees, and a few other types. Sometimes one can see Joshua Trees. In the mountains you will see a lot of pines. The larger cacti are in the middle and Southern parts of the state of Arizona for the most part. Elevation is 2,000-7500 feet depending on where around I-40 you are. I love Williams. I love the Grand Canyon. Flagstaff is a university town with ski hill and tourism.

A jack rabbit is a very large rabbit that lives in the plains and southwestern desert regions of the US. Starting at about Topeka KS west, to the Rockies, western Nebraska thru southern WY. They are in TX, New Mexico and AZ. They are about 6lbs, have long ears like Bugs Bunny, and are about 24” high (61 cm)
