This section is capable of 200kmph but they restricted due to no fencing and recently this train got damaged many times too so they limited It's speed to 160kmph you already would have seen the tests conducted at 180 so we are not far from achieving 200kmph+.

@@skarumuru well we would queue up at ticket counter at 4 am in the morning for counters to open at 8am. And once the gates would open there would be big race to reach the counter and fights. I still shiver at the thought , 1990s were so painful....long queues for everything , taking cash, sending speed post, paying electricity bills, telephone bills, taking gas cylinders etc etc ...i would typically spend two-three days in a month in different kinds of lines every month. Youth today cant even imagine how painful life was earlier

For those who have not ridden it, the ride quality is better than a Volvo or Mercedes luxury bus on a smooth highway. The place between the coaches near the toilets is a very chaotic rollercoaster on any train. But on this it barely shows. The suspension tech on this is witchcraft. 130 kmph feels like 25-30 kmph smooth. Once the train I was going in hit 139 kmph and I didn't even know till I saw my GPS app. Noise is so quiet the only vibration you feel is over the joints or points. Sometimes it feels like the train is floating above the rails on the newly upgraded sections

Agreed! I recently traveled between Ahmedabad and Mumbai on the Vande Bharat express and the train is ultra smooth! Considering Virar to Ahmedabad is almost fully upgraded for 160 km/h, the ride was silky smooth. Regular passengers of luxury buses will definitely shift to this train.

Nice gps app. Pretty accurate. I've clocked 900kph on the same app in a SG airlines. I hope Indian railways get the required safety parameters in check and request our citizens to obey and help Indian railways unlock it to 180 kmph and slowly hit its 200 kmph vmax. Indian railways has been long waiting for a double century. Even talgo couldn't clinch it. 1988 bhopal shatabdi to gatimaan and now vande bharat. Growth has been excruciating slow but we're getting there.

Just for the information. In UK way back in 1938 which is more than 82 years ago, a Steam Engine 🚂 Locomotive Train - The Mallard ran at a record speed of 203 kmph. Most of today's India's current railway tracks in 2023 are not suited even upto speeds of 200 kmph. Japan and France both have trains in excess of 570 kmph and average speeds upwards of 320 kmph. China has 603 kmph. India has a lot of catching up to do. 220 kmph plus is considered semi high speeds as per international standards. Even today Steam Locomotive Trains in UK which run daily touch speeds in excess of 115 kmph on scenic viewing routes. Max speed for UK steam locomotive trains is now around 120 kmph.

yupp..if only we started 30-40 years ago, we could have.. you cannot expect someone to hit 500kmph from get go.. there is a lot of R&D we should catchup on and infra dev.. the railways have been ignored for a long long time..

In 1938 Uk was stealing our raw materials and taking it to ports and then building their railways off that. So yeah..

Certainly we have a lot to catch up ..but thats ok..How many of those high speed networks are profitable and financially sustainable... In India we only make it when it is financially feasible & sustainable unlike the Chinese Meglev which only serves a purpose of a showpiece

@@marcd5196 that's true but cannot be an excuse. Raw material may be India's but the technology was home grown. India had a socialist mindset which hampered India's growth potential.

@@MrSwapnilkondvilkar in that sense for a country just about 1/3rd the size of China, the Mumbai Ahmedabad bullet train will definitely not be profitable or viable atleast for many years . The ticket could be almost equal to a mid level flight ticket. An entire ecosystem with overall growth and many other parameters show positive upward trajectory when development takes place. One would say what the benefit of car racing, formula 1 . So much pollution, waste of resources, rubber etc. But technology induced for car racing then percolates towards the entire car industry. As such India's bullet train will create an entire new ecosystem and lots of research and development for future of transportation in the country. There are many as such against ISRO as well but we all know how important space research is irrespective whether that's a profit or loss. Not everything can me judged in just monetary benefits.

If you observe carefully, fences are already down at many places. Fencing around NHAI, expressways and railways in India are flimsy, badly designed and won't last a month. A lot of it is already down in the new Bangalore Mysore expressway already. If we follow the US Interstate design of the highways, as Gadkari ji boast everytime, fences won't come down and there's no way people or animals can enter. Here these fences are useless and are a huge scam for contractors to make money. I wish Railways or Road ministry would look into this issue
