I was a paperboy back in 1957. Many customers paid me with silver dollars! I put them away, and some 65 years later they're still like new!

I’m old enough that I used to go to the bank and trade dollar bills for silver dollars. Never got any Carson City dollars, but I still have all the coins I got for a dollar.

It doesn't get much better than this. Portsmouth coin and currency always has choice examples regardless of the denomination that you wish to find. You really can't miss, I have learned so much about coins from Daniel and will forever be grateful.

Most of the old halves, draped and capped bust, were used for bank transactions. That is why many have survived in excellent condition. We didn't have much gold at that time, when the banks needed to physically move lots of money, they loaded wagons with silver halves in chests. 50 cent pieces ended up stored in vaults most of the time.

Have you ever heard about this Daniel? " The new Palmer House hotel was once remembered for the fact that 225 silver dollars were imbedded in the checkerboard tile floor of the barber shop. They were put there by William S. Eaton, lessee of the shop, who cashed in on the idea within the next few years. Everyone wanted to see that floor out of sheer curiosity, or to verify that a fool could thus waste his money. Meanwhile, many visitors used the barber shop services".

The high grades always excite me! I bought a couple MS 67+ Morgans and a dozen or so MS 66 a few years back before the prices went crazy. I hope you got these at a good price. They are all wonderful. OH! And today I was going through my raw Morgans and I pulled about 20 to send to NGC, but, I found a pristine (albeit poorly struck) 1921-S. I have a P and a D in MS 66 and this one, is far nicer. Wish me luck, because I couldn't believe I had it squirreled away like that. Thanks for sharing these with us and getting my blood pumping again!

I love Morgans too. I just completed the 2021 100th anniversary set and peace dollar. That’s the extent of my Morgan collection with a few ungraded common dates. I wish I was smarter and jumped on the train like yourself a few years ago but no one saw their popularity boom like this. I can’t believe the prices they’re fetching right now.

@@romeowhiskeylima556 I got ticked at the mint when I couldn't get the 2021's to go through on my card. I had 2 of each on those days they were available and now I refuse to buy from them again. I've been collecting since the Hunt brothers and my Father-in-law got me hooked then. I inherited half his significant collection two years ago as well.

@@craigfiebiger1730 I hear ya! The Mint turned my Dad of for good in the 70's. I wanted to do more in the last 5 years. They can really burst your bubble. Whatever I missed out on (Modern) , I just went back to the older Fun stuff.😃

You're SO right sir...very hard to believe people didn't want the Morgan back in the day. We moved to KS from Seattle in 1988 to be with my grandmother who just lost her husband. She was born Jan 31st 1900. She lived until April of 2001. The AMAZING stories from her I cherish! Thank you for your share. I love hearing about you dad too. God bless stay safe!

Kudos on those scores!!! That 1917 SLQ Type 1 is nice. Why did you shy away from the obverse when pointing out one of the differences? LoL It's my favorite coin!!! I have a Facebook page dedicated to the 1916 & 1917 SLQ's. I know of many ways to distinguish them. Some that I don't think others have discovered or mentioned. Congratulations on the 1916. It is a dream of mine to get one!!!

Hi, Daniel. I don't like that 1922 Peace Dollar in the Binion holder as a 66. It looks more like a 64. The other Peace Dollars were nice. I didn't like the 80S Morgan as a 66+ with that haze in the field on the obverse. The 82CC is sweet. The 82S in 67 looks amazing. The 96 in 66 is very clean. I like it better than the 96 in 66+. The 04O in 63PL looks nice for the grade. Overall, you have a nice bunch of gem silver dollars there. The type coins are cool. The 1806 half is neat. Early Bust coins are special. Thanks for the look. *TYU*

Quite a parade of high grade coins very nice! The grading looked inconsistent to me. There were 65’s that looked 66 and 66’s that looked 66+ but then there were coins like the binion that looked a point and a half overgraded. Interesting to see them all lined up like this to compare I’m a little surprised that this doesn’t happen often for you to get a group of 65-66 coins. I would think that with owning a coin shop that it would happen at least a few times a year

Sorry to mention it , but gotta do something with the camera - it is a huge distraction from those beautiful coins - it takes so long to focus it seems like something must be wrong with it...my 6 year old cell phone focuses faster...which just shouldn't be. Love your channel and think you are HUGE credit to the hobby and industry...your genuineness , honesty and joy in helping others really shines thru -thanks for all you do !!! ...And you're exactly right - your collection of uber-high grade dollars absolutely rocks !!!!

If you love my channel then you would not make this comment, you're too focused on other things. I spent thousands of dollars on the best equipment and do these videos for free. If you can't stay on the content then it's time to stop watching my videos. I am doing the best I can with the time and money I have. Very disappointing here.
