Very cool video! I love the underwater shots! For me burbs are accidental catches at the moment. I would really love to target them and get on a bite like this! Good stuff! What depths do you usually aim for in late winter/spring? From what I understand is one should fish shallower flats (20-30') and as the sun drops they move up from the depths.

When I was growing up fishing LOW they were unwelcome accidental catches. Now, I love targeting them! There is still so much to learn about these fish and every year I find something new. I would say that is accurate. I would also add steep breaks as deep anywhere from 15’-45’. That seems to be what has worked best for me. As they get closer to spawn they will move shallower and then slide out again after spawn.

@@tjsguideservice 👍 yes they have certainly proven to be more popular in last 5 to 10 years. Maybe next winter I'll make a real effort to get on them. I'll be wrapping up my ice fishing in northern Manitoba next week or else I'd try it now. So its on the list!

@@differentfins you bet! I have had friends who have targeted them open water in similar areas right when they ice gets out, but I haven’t. Good luck!

They aren’t too bad! I am no chef by any means, but they are definitely much better than expected! And they are easy to clean!
