I'm afraid to say this kind of takes the magic out of carp fishing. Oh how I miss the 80's and 90's when so much was unknown. Maybe it was just being young but it was the struggle and the elusiveness of big carp that was the gold. No disrespect to Steve but this feels like a commercial carp fishery in the UK and I'm sure that there are Angling industry guys who dream of creating a draw your peg style pool, stocked to the hilt with hunched back monsters where 30 pounds is a toddler, here in the uk. Who knows with climate change it may be achievable. I imagine there are football fans in England who feel a bit the same way about the premiership. I'm sorry but I just imagine that the arm ache after a session like this would feel a hollow victory, and I would wish that I had explored the architecture, the food and the culture.

Strange comment you can’t live in the past and every water is different, there have always been easy and hard waters and I fish them all at different times……
@Itwasntalieitwastrueinmymind2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely spot on. The magic & mystery is gone in a place like that.
@stevebriggs46382 жыл бұрын
@@Itwasntalieitwastrueinmymind absolute rubbish! What spoils carp fishing is people who can't let other people enjoy what they do without having a pop, there is every type of carp fishing out there to suit whatever you want so why not just let everyone do that!? never mind the 80's and 90's I go back to the 60's and 70's but I don't dream of going back in time and I let everyone do the fishing that they want to do, whether it's what I like or not.........

What a beautiful film, Steve. The difference between lakes, is that due to stock, temperature or learned behaviour of the fish?
@stevebriggs46383 жыл бұрын
All sorts of reasons really. There are certainly more fish in the second lake but a few people struggled to catch anything. It started slow for me but they definitely came to the bait. Just right place right time right tactics.

@@stevebriggs4638 i always use scopex squid in lakes and strawberry nut crush (park waters) an 4 nuts from boezembaits. Keeping rods out to catch some sleep instead of fish is epic!

Glorious filming yet again Steve and some beautiful fish. I'm curious on what your thoughts are of the three 100lb+ carp caught recently, are they on your target list? Cheers
@stevebriggs46383 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! good luck to the guys, three 100lb carp is incredible but it's all relative, I'd rather have one Cassien 70lb personally but I have fished the lake previously and it was ok but it's not in my plans to go back, but each to their own.
