I always struggle with the I want to give my fish a varied diet vs im going to end up with parasites. I think I have found a happy balance with frozen foods to vary the diet while avoiding the parasites. It is pretty amazing that pellet foods have not affected this stores vibrant colors! Each and every kamfa got its own personality thats why i love kamfas 😍😍
@kenfortuna36633 ай бұрын
The shop owner knows and understands what he is talking about kamfas. Unlike others who assume that their flowerhorns are kamfas but looks like zz’s. You can really tell whether a keeper/breeder is in the hobby for a long time(15 years or more) compared to keepers/breeders who are new to the hobby. What kamfa traits stood the most compared to zz’s are the body shape(rectangular), strong dorsal and anal fins(should be wrapped), and fan tail.

Yeah I tried a blue gourami with a flowerhorn; the flowerhorn bit holes in the bag when I was floating the gourami. Needless to say, I didn't let him go to his death. The fh hung out with a leparinus fasciatus for awhile but I ended up getting rid of the fh once he got big enough to start ripping up the anubius plants. Had the leparinus for quite awhile, he was almost a foot long when I moved and had to sell my tank.

I finally have a 75 gallon tank that could fit a Flowerhorn. I'm torn about actually getting one though due to their hybrid nature and unpredictable lifespan. I may just make it a planted tank of smaller cichlids and a school of dither fish (and my rainbow shark). I love the colors on the FHs though, very cool fish.

8 inch seems so small in a 75? I thought it would be just nice. Loads of swimming space for him. 75 is a perfect size long term imo. Mine is in a 50 now. I'll hipefully upgrade and move the turtle and some other fishes out. Not sure if ill move thanos the flowerhorn out too.
