I am a 22 year old traveling the United States that posts day in the life vlogs of a truck driver. I attended CFI's trucking school at crowder college and have been with CFI since August 2021. I got into trucking because I've always wanted to live life on the road since I was 18 years old. Originally I was going to do vanlife but decided to live the trucking life instead because it was a better financial decision. I mean I have free housing and I travel the U.S. It's awesome! I’m a trucker and I also play American truck sim on my days off. It pays off as it helps you gauge your turns. Granted in ats I drive at 85 mph in a 25 99% of the time. But it’s a game so I don’t care. My truck irl I haven’t even hit a curb yet with it. Im a very cautious person and do my best not to do anything that could harm my truck and trailer.

So Alex if you ever find yourself in a dead end with an entrance into a parking lot what you can do is pull into the lot, do not turn around in the lot, then straighten yourself out and back out of the lot turning your trailor so you are going straight out of the dead end. So for example you are at a T you turn left straighten out then back out with your trailir turning to the right.

@@deini the camera company only sells that one product at that level. There's a camera facing the road and a camera facing the cab. This company only pays for the monitoring of the road camera so the cab is deactivated. Which is why you can cover it.

I carry 4 sets of chains (8 tires in total). There are some mountain passes that require you to have them on the truck during certain times of the year. Colorado and California are two that I can think of right now. I keep mine on the truck all year.

I've had my licence about 3 months & I've just started driving in the UK...youd have no idea how many tight spots I've had to wiggle my way out of in a 40ft truck 😂, i almost feel pride at how calm & capable I became when I thought I was gonna get stuck in a housing estate. I've not hit a bridge or dropped a trailer yet though, extra vigilant on those 2.

Take your time man and trust yourself and your instincts. Tell yourself it wont happen to you because you’re doing shit how its supposed to be done, never cut corners and motivate yourself. So you quit CFI to go drive for Variant? Like I know Variant is offering more $ per mile of driving but I’ve heard absolutely nothing good about them at all. In fact I have yet to speak to a current driver there that’s been there more than 3 weeks. They have insane turn over. Absolutely no where near as good of a company as CFI. A lot of companies are trying to put inside cameras in their units which goes against the courts ruling cause it’s a breach of privacy. Likely what he was getting at. I do highly highly suggest you leave the tape on there. That’s usually screaming a bad company. They’ll do everything to throw the driver under the bus.
