If Lawrence doesn't want to wear any safety equipment, that's his decision. Like a stubborn mule with little regard to the results if he gets injured. It's also scary seeing Wes ridding on the side of a tractor. If he falls off, it would not be good. And how.would you feel if he did.?

Lawrence's attitude towards life/ accidents and the "love him or you don't like him" way reminds me so much of my Dad. To all the critics out there, and I think most will agree, (if you have ever been around an old fashioned farm). I was raised on a farm very similar to the Bernards. Lawrence is an old fashioned farmer, which there are very few left. He was probably raised by a Dad that, was a product of the great depression, (1930s) and they never threw anything away, for fear that they might need a part off of it, or something. We were not raised with hardhats and safety glasses, we were taught to work with what we had, and not spend a nickel more than what we had, and most times we didn't have the nickel to spend anyway. So, while all of the pointed comments are good advice, the guy is an "All American", these are the ones that keep our country running and fed. Let's give the Bernard family a break and leave the negative comments, (which can be hurtful) in our back pocket. Instead, lets make a positive comment. They are the type of people that built this country from start. Blessings to the Bernards!
