Joe Buck sits down with golf legend Nick Faldo. The two dive into Faldo's humble introduction to the world of golf, to playing against his heroes in the Ryder Cup, and now entering the world of golf commentary. Faldo discusses joining his first golf club, winning the English Amateur Championship, playing college golf at the University of Houston for only ten weeks, and the secrets behind his first Ryder Cup.

Was never a lover of Faldo as a player, as I felt he was pretty detached and aloof but have warmed to him in his latter years as a commentator. Seems to have lightened up and I quite like listening to him.

The single minded approach to be a winner which served him well and contributed to 6 Majors.. Agree he didn’t come across particularly well back in the day, but plenty of others would love his record..

I was a big Faldo fan as a kid...for a few years he kept blowing leads in majors and I wondered if he was going to be yet another British (English) sportsperson who had so much talent but not the mental strength to win. Then he remodelled his swing with David Leadbetter...and finally won the Open in '87. Then he went on to win 6 Majors in total. I'll never forget the back to back Masters wins. Not met him - he seems friendly enough but it's interesting to read comments to the contrary...

Always been a fan of Faldo. And here he tells us the difference between the greats and us hackers; even if I *think* “y’know,I think I’ve got this game sorted.” And then the Golfing Gods hear it… BAM!

I think we see the real Nick, now. He was so cool as a player but all that emotion was under the surface and we see it now. He’s at the top table as a golfer and a pundit.

Kind of a catty comment about Floyd but at the top level those guys don't go out of their way to make friends. I'm sure Floyd didn't much care for Faldo either. Interesting thing about Nick - other than his 3 wins at Augusta he had no top 10's, whereas Floyd had the won victory by 8 shots in 1976 and 11 top 10's - who was the more consistent competitor?
