Got in an interesting road rage incident this morning. Was crazy to see the guy come out of his truck right in front of the cops. Cop yelled at him to get back in the truck. Sorry for no audio, the mic in my dashcam is broken :(
To add context: At the very beginning, traffic was backed up in the right lane, but clear in the left lane in front and behind. When I merged to the left, the guy in the truck was speeding from behind so it ended up being closer than I thought and I slightly cut him off. He didn't have to stop, but he did have to slow down from 70kph to 50kph. He honked, but I didn't speed up, so he got pissed and that all happened in front of the cops. I did not get any ticket, so I was let off before I saw the tickets the truck guy got. They were definitely giving him something, they talked to him for so long before letting me off.

Ya I remember that feeling when I was about 10 years old. I was riding my bike with a friend to McDonalds with a pocket full of change. Next thing I knew to teens came after us. I got away my friend didn't and one of them took my friends bike to come after me...I didn't know this had happened until I heard my friends bike coming I thought he got away too. Then I turned to see it was one of the teens. I stopped. He mugged me at knifepoint on a busy street. I saw cops driving up as he had the knife on me. I waved my arms frantically to get their attention. They waved and kept going. I'm lucky I'm not dead thanks to those wonderful officers.

It's amazing how emboldened people get when they are in their cars. I saw a guy pull out of a gas station into oncoming traffic recently, as if they weren't even there, and a suv slammed on the brakes and sounded their horn. They guy who pulled out in front of him, stopped in the middle of the road, flipped him off and opened his door as if to confront the driver. The aggressor was clearly in the wrong and was upset because he was honked at. It honestly saddens me how stupid some of us have become as a species.

what saddens me is the lack of a response from our law makers who should be doing something to show these idiots that this type of activity is and will not be tolerated, IMO for every action from brake checking to over aggressive action, should result in the loss of driving privilege's up to criminal charges with jail time.

As soon as I realized my mistake I pulled back into my original lane (did not even make it half way into the other lane before I corrected) ok , my bad. Guy got pissed and followed me into the gas station and pulled up behind me at the pump. He lays into me, cussing and calling me names, he notices my back window has the name of my auto repair business and the phone number. He says "I am calling your boss and getting you fired" dials the number on his cell phone, my phone rings, I answer it as I stare straight at him, being very professional I say thank you for calling ... etc , he gets even more pissed. @@garfieldsmith332 .. Lol. Speeding on that road is fairly safe. In addition to a widely divided country four-lane, there's adjacent wide ditches and then two-lane utility roads on each side with any houses or businesses well beyond that and normally only a vehicle or two every mile or so. Other than the occasional drunk driver or whatever, there hasn't been a major accident in years. And those drunk drivers usually run off the road, not into another. They built the road hoping to attract businesses along it (between this town & a popular recreational area), but, due to geography (a large river, limited bridges, another popular freeway leading to the same area, etc), it's not happening (businesses are spreading in the opposite direction). I'm sure the sheriff, who lives along that road, does a little speeding himself. Take care, Mr Smith. Nice talking to you.

Years ago, I was driving along in the left lane, going just slightly faster than the traffic in the center lane. I noticed a car in back of me, so I checked to make sure the center lane was clear, signaled the lane change, and moved over. The guy who had been behind me drove up along side, honked his horn and flipped me the bird. Was probably hollaring also, but it was winter so all of our windows were closed. To this day, I wonder what I did wrong.

Because a passing manuever should take no more than 10-15 seconds; if you are sitting in the left lane going slightly faster than the center lane, you are still blocking the left lane, because you're deciding not just you but everyone's speed behind you in the left lane should only be slightly faster than the center lane, no matter the situation, whether there's an emergency, etc. Use left lane only to pass, then get back into the center lane

I used to be easily amped up and had more than a few bouts of road rage. I'm not usually that easily aggravated. After crashing my car in a completely unrelated accident I realized that my own outlook on driving is probably what's caused me to be so short tempered. Driving is a privilege, not a right. It's been almost 1 year since I was last angry behind the wheel and I enjoy a peaceful drive wherever I go now. ✌

I was waiting for someone close to a rotary (traffic circle) one day when squealing tires caught my attention. A pickup was chasing a small car and overtook it in the rotary. The pickup driver cut him off slammed on his brakes and jumped out with that bad ass swagger as he walked back toward the car. Then a giant of a fellow unfolded himself and got out. The truck driver literally ran back to his truck and raced away. It was awesome lol. Took the wind out of his sails real quick.

Oh, get real. The car driver pulled in front of that truck without proper signaling (in advance, not while doing it) and then intentionally slowed down slower then the lane he left (the white sedan in that lane was going faster). In other words, he provoked the incident and is now acting like the victim.

No I didn't have a dashcam (though now shopping for one), and I was so shocked I didn't think to get a license plate number or try getting my phone out to take a pic or video or call the cops. When I was in junior college my math instructor told us next time we're caught in traffic (maybe starting to feel a little angry at those around us) to imagine some kind of catastrophic event, which isn't out of the realm of possibility. So if that were to happen while stuck in traffic, it would now turn that angry at your neighbor situation into a help your neighbor survive camaraderie. Human nature is to help our fellow humans in times of trouble.

i like your sentiment, but i don't agree with it.
