Old Denpasar style is so charming! The earlier parts of the video reminds me of Malacca in Malaysia and the 5th minute portion looks like Chinatown in Bangkok! I totally agree that Indonesia is super resource rich. So much potential and can be a very strong regional power in future when well managed. Sulawesi is a must for many of us ladies from Australia, to stock up on cotton fabric for their quilting. The Balinese batiks are very much sort after by quilters and the prices are very cheap. Also Toko Central in Kuta is a must for all sewing notions like Lace, beads, buttons, zips and pretty much everything for sewing.

As long a you have your double vaccine. You can go anywhere. People who are doubled vacs can enter WA and don't have quarantine. Gold is just like money. Buying gold is money put away and it can be sold later. Toko Mas /Gold Shops in Indonesia have very high quality gold with 22 karats being the standard of gold being sold/ When you choose the gold produce in Indonesia you want, they weigh it and charge you less per gram than you pay in most countries of the world. It actually is not a bad investment but be careful returning to your Western Country as you Customs and Immigration may want you to pay your own Country's taxes on returning home. Bali is more renowned for Silver (it is mined on the Island). Lots of silversmiths near Ubud and if you go to Java in Jogya too. If you go to Kalimantan , then gold is mined there and good value.

People in Indonesia like to buy gold for marriages dowries and also as a mean to save money because many underprivileged class dont have bank account due to strict government regulations like tax number and proper ID. Indonesian bank interest is taxed at 20 percent rate and stocks profits are taxed at 10 percent rate so I guess 2 percent tax rate for gold make the gold worth more as investment option.

Hi We spend alot of time in Jalan Sulawasi getting fabric for our garment making buisness you were just near my friends Joi and Raffika fabric shop also the Gold is very cheap love looking 😀🤔 and the River Walk Project . clean up has been excellent especial up near the Markets and the beautifull old buildings like you see im Malaysia and old Singapore. Well that was a bit of an eye opener wasn’t it Daniel? Yes there are many poor, increasingly desperate locals. Especially with the pandemic shutting out tourists. I think now though you have seen with the Gold buyers in Denpasar that there is also many well off Indonesians. Bali has been in a 2 decade boom. Many Balinese have done very well either in business or through land sales and property development.

Great Vlog and is is apparent that the Tourist destinations are suffering as Denpasar is pretty active👍 let’s hope that things get back to normal soon and the tourists start coming. Western Australia isn’t co-operating with the rest of Australia and is causing issues with not only International, but Intrastate travel. Hopefully the people will get rid of the leader next election so the state can prosper and then many can come to Bali

My 3 daughters are studying and teaching cultural dance and cultural history at Udayah University in Denpasah and in Java and are working in films and stage productions, so its not so apparent to tourists but is alive and well within the Balinese culture you can see productions at the University 😀🎬🎥👹👺👩‍🎓🏫🎭
