I once heard a story from my girlfriend's grandmother that when she was a child she once had gotten a small corn kernel stuck in her sinuses, presumably from laughing while she was eating it. She didn't know it was even there until several months later she had complained of bad pain in her sinuses to the extent that she could no longer breathe through he nose without it being unbearable. Apparently the corn kernel had started to sprout and grow inside her nose and it had been there for so long that tissue had formed around it and she had to go through surgery to get it removed.
