Prewatch: Appreciate you not giving away the method in the thumbnail and just calling it a one shot trick for those of us wanting to work it out first watch, Wes! Postwatch: Definitely didn't expect it to start with the offering of the dying light bulb to the straight- jacketed God above 🤯

From a cinematic point of view I like that Eric’s mask moved from his ear to his hand. It would leave the audience wondering wether this was in his head or actually happened

Agreed never thought about that!

Kinda like the movie Inception where they leave you wondering about the spinning top at the end.

Great concept and really well executed. Just one note....... If it had started by slowly closing in on Wes’s face and eyes, and then pulled back before he stood up, it would have better suggested that the escape was all in his mind. And it could have ended by closing in on Wes’s face again, highlighting his crazed eyes and the eerie effect of the light reflections.

Oh man, I was so impressed until I realized you guys hid the line and shadows of the backer board in post. I looked down there three times before the reveal because there were only two ways out from behind the screen and both required edges to be well hidden. Love the concept of looping back to the beginning. Reminded me of the ending of the movie, Brazil. Love your stuff, guys. Would be so fun to set those up and shoot it.
Lovely That’s the kind of thing that elevates magic to art.

Love the Mr. Electric reference. In about 1980 I managed to get tickets in the 4th row for a live magic show. The performers that night were Marvyn Roy (Mr. Electric), Johnny Thompson (The Great Tomsoni), and David Copperfield. What a show. I'll never forget Johnny Thompson producing a bowling ball from a handful of black silks.

Beautifully executed. You are correct that in shooting “White Art” against a cove, the line of demarcation between the bottom of the masking and the floor would have shown up on camera so CGI would have been needed to blur those lines.

They don't. They also don't know that the boys would like to do more stuff like this with less jump cuts etc but Tru TV have more of a say how the show is produced/edited so it comes across in more of a prank style than clever illusions like this. Most people don't stay to the end because lack of attention span and it's more fun to bag sh^t online and troll it than give it a chance 🙄
