I think all can, some of them just didn't care. My budgie he could sense my emotion and when I was sad or cried he was so gentle with me gave me kisses, tried to do something funny to cheer me up. So they definitely know.

@ryan. You are correct about the screaming. Parrots can turn to screaming if they do not have a proper schedule, attention, enrichment and space to exercise. We have a 7 person family, and I rescue parrots. He is fully integrated into our home and our family. I also work from home so he is not caged, except when I have to leave the house, and for a set amount of time during the day to set expectations, and at night. We do this so that if we have to leave, or cannot give our full attention on any given day, he is not upset about his cage. We don’t use it as a punishment ever, and he has a to. Of space and toys inside the cage. Anyways, parrots are not easy pets, and they require a ton of time, money, patience, love and training. They are also very emotional and smart animals. ❤️❤️

Zeus is so funny, he's just fantastic!! It's great to see how happy he is and you can tell he's happy with you. I rescued an amazon parrot myself, I'm very lucky with him and he's found his forever home now. Even after everything my amazon Pippy has been through, he's still a happy, sweet little man and he's so gentle and sweet, it's hard not to love him.
