The irony is we are the largest milk producer in the world. Indian companies should figure out how to make whey here in India in larger quantities.

Europe and US genes don't digest milk that easily. They have historically always processed milk(cheese, yogurt, etc). Whey is a byproduct of their lifestyle. In India we have consumed milk directly. Whey is not the major market here. Also the reason why I don't buy Indian whey protein, I don't see that much of a business opportunity for so many companies to jump in and have good supply chains all around.

A small rant … Not criticising anyone political party, but since Independance, it’s the ABSOLUTE FAILURE of every government which has been formed at the Centre to provide and supply adequate low cost but high quality protein diet to its citizens. I mean on one hand China is providing more and more protein to its population, on the other hand a state government in Rajasthan (or Gujarat?) recently cancelled the one egg in the mid day meal scheme in government schools in order to reduce non veg foods. 😅😂😂 I am not criticising just BJP but also Congress who have ruled this country for nearly 50 years and haven’t done enough as for providing protein in the diets are concerned. Everyone criticises the lack of facilities as the main reason why India isn’t winning big at the Olympics. But I beg to differ, the main reason ain’t the lack of facilities but malnutrition. The absolute failure of Indian government since 1947 to provide adequate protein in the diet of the Indian citizens has made the masses of India very weak and malnourished. The Indian government likes to blast about the next generation of India being completely young more than any other country in the world. But I bet the results will be shocking if you see what percentage of them actually consume adequate protein in their diet everyday? I cannot understand what’s stopping the Indian government to start producing Whey protein powder in mass quantities and distribute it at very subsidised costs for the poor people without compromising on its quality. Instead importing this from the USA and UK and making the product very expensive, why doesn’t India actually produce a kg whey protein powder for something like 500 rupees. That’d be huge for the Indian masses. In every country the masses win you the Olympic medals or the boxing championships or the tennis tournaments. Most of the NBA players come from poor backgrounds. But they aren’t malnourished, because the USA provides food stamps and adequate protein for them even with the free food. India is just one nation where the lower middle class, middle class win you the sporting trophies whereas the 80% masses don’t. Because they’re malnourished.

The whole manufacturing industry is very underdeveloped in India, developed countries in Europe and even China shifted from agriculture centric economy to manufacturing centric economy then started to focus on the service sector, India didn't developed the manufacturing sector, other than agricultural and dairy products there are few things India exports, we are like a farmer who sells to the world and then all the other things are bought from other countries, that puts a lot of load on the economy, we pressure farmers to sell in less price because we can't afford high price as we have less source of income as a country, manufacturing is the backbone of an economy, the European industrial revolution cemented their wealth and china did the same, while we are trying to look good internationally saying we are reducing our carbon emissions, it's a good thing but that will put more pressure on the manufacturer, china and west didn't care about carbon until the Fully developed the manufacturing sector now they care. * Sigh* i just hate that Indians have to pay more for so many things even though we earn less and on top pf that the government is taxing us like demons, GST and a list of cess, I don't really like BJP anymore they said they will improve the country but most of the things they did were publicity stunts, and contry kept getting weaker in many ways, they did some good things but I don't really like the net total of what happened in the long BJP rule.

I don't think they would be importing such small quantities I think they will import atleast 10000kgs in one order for small companies so actual cost would be way low. Whey is the liquid after we extract paneer and all from milk... The process of extracting whey from that leftover milk liquid is too high.... If u ask why don't we direct consume the liquid?.. I would say... Whey protien company offer 24g protien in just 33g scoop.. And if u want 24g protien from that leftover milk liquid.. U have to drink I think approx 3 or more litre to fullfill but it won't affect your body because 3 litre whey is hard to digest 😂...
