@princequestly2218 I think you're completely missing the point bud. It's about inspiration to think outside of the norm. Yes Mullen invented or inspired pretty much all of today's common tricks. Skating changed forever because of him. The gnarlyness continues to go up but the creativity has definitely plateaued. Andy is far from the norm. I agree you can't compare him to Mullen based on trick invention but you can on creativity. The industry needs him and I'm glad he's around.

Over the course of time I’ve learned to judge others less because I know that I don’t like to be judged. It’s not the way. I’ve learned that creativity is one of the most vital aspects of being a human. Watching Andy skate is witnessing the essence of love and creativity. He oozes passion. There will only ever be ONE Andy Anderson. I’m sorry that I judged you, Andy. You’re possibly the most creative skateboarder on the planet and not to mention the things you’re doing are unimaginably difficult, and you’re the only one who can imagine doing them. I’m in my mid 40’s, I skated in the 80’s(mainly vert), I stopped in the late 90’s because all of my friends quit. I always kind of followed the sport as a fan. Anyways, nobody I know skates right now… & I just bought an Andy Anderson complete setup a few weeks ago after watching his vids. He’s inspiring the way Mountain was, even though his skill is unattainable, his attitude and love for the craft is infectious and it bleeds through the screen.

You quit right when the golden era of skateboarding began. Such a shame. Glad you got back on a board! I’m about to turn 40 and still skate.

@@DazedCutty Hopefully I don’t kill myself. I might steer clear of flip tricks for the time being. I rolled a few ankles in my 20’s, I can’t imagine doing that now and having to work the next day. I’ll ease myself into it.

This Guy is just casually reinventing skateboarding on his own. Helmet on, shredding street, flat, ramps like no one else. Get him to the olympics and he would probably win easily. But he doesn't care, je just does what he wants... I don't skate but you can tell that everything he does is difficult yet done so effortlessly... Amazing video... 😮
@sheddingskin4202 ай бұрын
Love him or hate for his style or the fact he wear a helmet riding street, no can deny the overwhelming talent this guy has in multiple genres of skating and his creativity. Loving the way he approaches skateboarding and after seeing him on the Hawk vs Wolf podcast, getting to see how this dude thinks about it and his overall persona is exactly what skateboarding needs. Great video, insane tricks. I cant wait to see the impact this guy will make for the future of the sport

I'm glad that I was able to get Andy's first board from a skate shop in the Czech Republic. I hope that Powell will do a European tour someday, come to Prague, so I'll have the opportunity to get Andy to sign it for me.

I've been thinking about visiting Czechia, any spots you recommend?
@martinzemek57984 ай бұрын
@@antidote5125I mainly go to skateparks but there's a website where you can find a lot of street spots from Prague. It's pretty well made. The spots are categorized (rails, stairs, ledges, gaps, banks, manual ledges, etc.), there's a map, photos of the spots, short descriptions that even include info about potential security and so on. I can't put the link here because KZbin will hide the comment but if you google "skate spots prague" it should be the top result.

What can I even say that hasn't already been said a million times? I was so moved by this. It's incredible to see someone excel at something they are so passionate about because they put in the hard work to achieve their goals. It's even cooler to see such a humble, kind, down to earth person doing it. Favorite skater...hands down.

I started skating in 1976 in the UK, I'm 58 now and last year started again and it was epic, sadly I hurt myself pretty badly and kind of realised that my body can't take the damage like it used to but I will ride again at some point. I've been watching Andy for a while now and watching this video has had me welling up with passion, joy, nostalgia and the pure happiness of seeing where this beautiful life has got to so many years later. I fucking love skateboarding so so much ❤👊 ✌

His ability to take skateboarding back to it roots aswell as driving it into the future is a feat not many people will ever achieve. The way he approaches his lines mimics a surfer riding a wave, every movement/trick has a purpose of moving to the next section while also taking the spotlight in its own right. Being able to squeeze the life out of each obstacle without appearing to be forcing anthing. This was like an endless summer, I did not want it to end.

Dude, Andy is so counter-culture he came out the other side. Loads of skaters try to be cool and different they didn't even realize how mainstream they became. And this guy is here, unphased by that bs, with his own style, so nice and respectful that he can convince a bunch of cops how cool skating is and to let him do his stuff. A true original, second to none.
