1:11 We don't do that anymore. Many years ago kids use to make a judas doll and ask for "coins for Judas" on the street (you know that reference, the biblical story of thirty pieces of silver), the money was used to buy explosives that were put inside the judas to blow the shit out of him. Traditionally, he was thrown into a fire with explosives inside. Nowadays, some kids still make a judas doll but they use the money to buy candy and shit.

The word "berry" in spanish is "baya", but it is not used with the other word like in english, for exemple: strawberry is fresa, we don't say fresa baya xD, because it is obvious that it is a kind of berry, then it doesn't need it. Then, when you say "baya" here, that it is not so common, you're saying the main group of all this kind of fruits (raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, etc.). It's cool, this is the enigma of the linguistic system of each language jaja :).

The one about Uruguay and the Judas doll is done also in Colombia, but it's called "Año Viejo". And people (kids, adults, at neighborhoods or random streets) just try to get random people that are walking around to help them fund the purchase of incredible amounts of fireworks that go inside the "Año Viejo" to burn at New Years Eve exactly at 12. Also the doll usually is shaped like a drunk man.

Here in Peru we know berries as Frutos del bosque (idk why tho) or Frutos silvestres (less common) and the translation here for different types of berries would be: - strawberry = fresa - golden berry = aguaymanto o capulí - blueberry = arándano - raspberry = frambuesa - blackberry = mora - elderberry = sauco and all above can be found in markets. And even you can find blackberry trees on one street and take as many as you want :)

in Chile, berries="frutos del bosque". And each berry also has a name (strawberry=frutilla, blueberry=arándano, blackberry=mora, etc). But in the last few years the word "berry" without translation is used too. Because we're aspirational like that.

Puncha Crema; flan, condensed milk, regular milk and rum (Venezuela/Maracaibo). Awesome. A Yiddish word with no direct translation is grada which roughly means "happens to be" or "matter of fact". EX: "Grada ikh bin beyz" (GRADA I am angy). I am of German/Polish-Catholic/Jewish ancestry and am married to a Venezuelan woman. Probably why I enjoy Joanna's humor so much.

berrys is the equivalent to "bayas" in spanish, but depending on the region, the people tend to use other terms, such as "frutos del bosque" (even if it may be wrong) which in the end is most every small and sweet fruit that grows in bushes what they're reffering to; although, the "berry" that goes at the end of the word in English does not apply for spanish: Strawberry=fresa raspberry=frambuesa blueberry=zarzamora
