That blue stained glass piece was a doily made from tatting. Tatting is a lost art. I know someone who does tatting past down from her grandmother and it is very difficult , intricate and beautiful! It was amazing to watching her skill of tatting!

I found a tatting shuttle at an estate sale. No one could tell me what it was but I bought it anyway and researched it.

I have a piece of tatting about 2 feet long. It was in my mom's sewing supplies, but obviously handmade. I know she didn't do it. Wish I knew if it was done by my grandmother or great grandmother. I used some of it on sleeves of a dress I made my daughter, then when she outgrew it wished I hadn't. It's beautiful.

The lace framed in glass was made from a needle art form called “tatting”. I have vintage tatting needles (shuttles), but have not attempted to make anything yet because I’m sure I’ll get frustrated and toss it out the window. 😁

I’m glad you posted this! You don’t see tatting very often, and the display of the tatted doily was gorgeous! I have tried it, and it’s pretty easy to do with a shuttle, but I haven’t tried it with a needle yet. You definitely should give it a try!

@@MyMiaArabella There’s quite a few tatting tutorials on uTube if you do a search. I have some pieces here a older relative did years ago. It’s an interesting technique of the fiber arts. I learned to crochet with Utube tutorials so I bet you can find a great instructor on here and learn a lot easier. ❤

The lamp reminds me of Native American Horsehair pottery. It's made by placing horse hair on pottery while it's still hot from the kiln. They may have used a similar technique but with dried plants.

I believe the large lighthouse photo was the Nubble lighthouse in Cape Neddick, York, Me and is considered to be the most photographed lighthouse. I have taken many tour groups there over the years.

That is indeed the process - pressing flowers/grasses into the wet pottery & then firing it. Beautiful results.

The lamp was made as a slab where the weeds and grasses were pressed in, under a cloth, probably with a rolling pin. Then, and iron oxide wash is brushed on and wiped off so it remains only in the depressions. Probably no glaze was used. I love the look of this technique and use it often myself.

If you're using dishwasher detergent in pod form, they do not go in the trap door. Just throw them in the bottom of the washer. I was last years old when I accidentally read the directions 😂

When my kids were young and sickness was in the house a lot we would open up the house , windows, doors and let it air out and let the heat run while it was all open for about half an hour . It seemed to help and maybe change the air filter in the furnace .

For the ones that might not know. Our biggest germ catchers these days are our handheld items. Remotes, phones, gaming controllers...give them a wipe down with the product of your choice. I hope this helps.

I love that you’re finally looking at snowglobes!!! That’s always what I want to see and no one ever looks at them. Even the ones that have murky water or big air bubbles, there are people like me out there that love to buy them and fix them. It’s a fun activity.

Awesome shopping trip, Jocelyn!! That Murano was definitely a special moment! I sure hope Ashton is feeling better. During winter, when my kids were little, I'd open their bedroom window just a tiny crack after they fell asleep at bedtime. Just enough to get a bit of fresh air in. I made sure they had a pile of blankets to keep their body warm, but they were able to breathe in that bit of fresh air coming in from the window crack while they slept. They never seemed to get cold and never got sick, either. I'm not sure if the fresh air helped, but my kids really never got sick. So, getting the air fresh might work. I'm thinking an air filter might work to get germs out of the air as well. Just some thoughts for you. Sue ♥

It could be the ac. Here in Denmark we don't have ac in our homes. We always open all the windows on full blast twice a day in winter for like an hour or so. In summer our windows are open 24/7 more or less. My son was never sick when he was younger. I'm thinking maybe they need to check the air in the house🤷‍♀️

Harry and David ship fruit. They may have branched out to bakery items, not sure. My Mother-In-Law used to order fruit for us every Christmas. It was better than a fruit cake.

Hey Joslyn, there were some plates that you moved, that were on top of the ceramic divided plates. If I’m not mistaken, they were Japanese stoneware. There is a brown pattern called “dried flowers” that have sold REALLY well for me (in Australia) They are my BOLO for sure. I sold a few plates and mugs for $100 :)
