I think the problem is you’ve inspired too many people. Everyone has jumped on the bandwagon. So it doesn’t feel special anymore. The one thing you have to remember is you aren’t just the Crazy Lamp Lady. You are an innovator. This is the next chapter. We are all here for it. That’s a promise xx

There are and always have been lots of creators who shop at Goodwill. I meant more copying my style and my passions. The things I’ve felt that always made me stand out as a reseller and creator in this particular niche. I think the next chapter is going to be fun.

You do stand out , your knowledge is insurmountable, your personality is unique and the was you discuss each find is engaging. Your struggle to leave the broken weirdos behind is so cute . So many may buy similar items but I don’t watch those people as they are not you . But you need to go with your gut and any feelings you have are valid but I don’t want you to ever feel there are others like you as you are an original 😊

I’ve been following you for five years, and it’s been amazing to see your growth. From the living room hauls, cleaning the third-floor, through the shop, the new floors and the black paint, the new house, the “ham house,” a new baby, Niknax, and so much more that we may not even know about. I just want to say-it’s easy to lose ourselves along the way. But the most important thing is learning to reconnect with who we are. This past year, I realized how much mental health matters, just as much as physical health. I started hiking again, feeding my mind and body what they need. Eating healthy, cutting out sugar-it all heals from the inside out. I’ll be here, supporting you in this new project, and wishing you all the best. Thank you for everything Jocelyn ❤

good for you. leaving the ramp is a big help for people. In the bathroom that you're talking about redoing I think that it would be a great idea that you put a walk in shower in it. As someone that has a few problems getting in and out of a tub shower is very hard. plus if you have a wheel chair person a walk or even a roll in shower would be a great idea
@MultiDonna993 сағат бұрын
Some friends of mine (we are early60s) recently vacationed in Ireland and England, there one grip (and was most of the tourists on the bus) was having to step into a bath to have a shower. So a modern bathroom with a walk in shower would appeal.

A “ wetroom” no bath. A screen less shower and yes accessible bathroom for sure. They don’t scream disabled anymore either
@Mittenmarket5 сағат бұрын
My suggestion..... Make the bathroom accessible if you're remodeling it!!
@kathyennis25503 сағат бұрын
Yes, that's what I was going to say. Handicap accessible is more than just a ramp. Need at least a walk in shower.
@connych47963 сағат бұрын
@@kathyennis2550 Also, with a drop-down shower seat and grab rails (not just for the shower). Maybe make the whole room into a wet room? The ramp seems to have a pretty good slope ratio, though maybe a bit tight for manoeuvring at the top. Some places have such a steep ramp that it might as well it not be there.

So excited for you Jocelyn! KZbin has so many resellers now, that what you worked so hard to achieve doesn't have the same thrill it once did. Your impact on the industry though will live on forever! You have inspired, taught and encouraged so many of us through the years. I do not resell, but love thrifting. I can go into a Goodwill and actually identify different pottery and glass from watching your videos! You will forever be the Crazy Lamp Lady, but in your heart you know it was time to spread your wings, whether they be a bird, especially an owl, a butterfly, an angel or a ladybug. Can't wait to see what happens along your new journey! I know it will be awesome!
@TeeGreen2224 сағат бұрын
Hi Jocelyn, I agree with the comment suggesting you make the bathroom accessible. My husband is disabled from a stroke and when I’m looking for an AirBnB, I’m looking for a space that not only makes his stay enjoyable - but also makes my stay as the caregiver less stressful. Grab bars in the bathroom are a must. Handrails if there are any steps going in & out of the house. One problem we see a lot is grab bars and handrails are often on the right - and he needs it on the LEFT side 🙄 because he can’t use his right arm. The toilets that sit higher are also a nice touch. And the floor of the bath/shower cannot be slippery. Dare to be different, girl! Please know that we SEE YOU - you are a kind, generous, beautiful soul who chases her dreams and works HARD to achieve them, all the while inspiring and teaching others to do the same. Personally, I stand in awe of you - and I don’t think I stand alone. Wishing you peace and happiness always ❤

I have been feeling sad, depressed, not myself at all. The hardest thing for me by far, was my Daughter passing away in March 2022. 😢. It’s been absolutely devastating. I feel like my heart has been ripped out. I am trying to figure out how I go on without her. I have a lot of work to do on myself. Grief is gonna kill me if I can’t find a good therapist. Hopefully I can take some risk and come out of this pain on a stronger path. Thank you for sharing Joslyn you have no idea how much you have helped me. ❤

I am so happy for you! I have felt your “disconnection” for lack of a better word. Crazy Lamp Lady, with all the shopping, shows, research for comps, editing & posting of videos and listings and ALL the other things has become your job. I know you enjoy it to an extent, but being the “OG” of thrifting and flipping has become monotonous and boring in many ways because you’ve mastered it! There aren’t many challenges for you anymore! There isn’t the old excitement you once had. Now you will still have a job but you’ll have a creative outlet! You’re very artistic and this has brought back a spark! I could hear it in your voice as you went through showing your new property. I’ve been on this journey with you for quite some time (you’re the 1st person I ever bought anything from on eBay) and you’ve been such an inspiration for so many! Think of the women who have been able to leave relationships and make it on their own because you showed them it’s possible. Think of all the people who have been able to leave corporate jobs and found freedom in becoming their own boss because you paved the way for them! Toasting you tonight Jocelyn! To new beginnings and new chapters I know you’ll conquer! Salud!🥂

I’m glad to hear you are branching out, and trying something new! Doing the same thing over and over nearly every day for years can make you feel like an automaton instead of the vibrant, creative woman that you are. I do have suggestions (surprised?) for the main bathroom: remove the bathtub, and replace it with a roll-in shower. Have a shower chair available, and have at least one hand-held shower head. Replace the sink cabinet with a sink in a countertop that you can roll a wheelchair under. Also, install grab bars around the toilet (and the shower.) This will make it more comfortable for people with limited mobility. I hope you can get your air b&b up and running within your ambitious time frame, but don’t stress yourself! You are far more important than a date on a calendar!

You have great taste and would be a fantastic designer helping people decorate their new homes on a budget! The new house is great! You should also know that you have reawakened my love of glass and beads. I made jewelry for over 20 years but became discouraged when people wanted more delicate, blingy pieces instead of the big, chunky stone and glass pieces I loved to make. I also got a bit burned out doing the festival scene. Then the art co-op I sold my pieces in closed down. So when my eyes and hands started showing their age and the kids went off to college and there was tuition to pay, I packed up all of my beads. They had been sitting in the attic for 8 years. But I recently took them all down, rediscovering my gorgeous murano and lamp work beads, my beautiful stones, and I have been designing like crazy! Even though my hands hurt and my wire wraps aren’t quite perfect anymore, I am going to make enough new stuff and apply to be a seller on Mainly Made!

Sending my love and prayers. I can relate in some ways under different circumstances, of course. I applaud the courage it took to show your vulnerability. You will rediscover YOU. YOU are a one of a kind masterpiece ❤

I totally get where you’re coming from albeit in a different way. When I was working full time and a mum and wife, the lady in the office,daughter,sister etc I felt a bit lost as I wore so many different ‘hats’ and didn’t know who I was anymore. You are a wonderful person and bring lots of happiness to your viewers/followers. I watch all your videos from the UK every day, I love seeing your purchases and your clips of the family. Your Air bnb will be an exciting new venture that you can put you stamp on and show your style. Good luck Jocelyn xxxx Bridget
