My son served a mission in Canada. They eat a lot of Putine. Its basically fried potatoes with cheese curds and gravy over all. He taught us, and I have learned to make cheese curds, very simple, and we enjoy this fortifing snack often after the chores are done. By the way Ben, I drilled a hole in the cap to fit the pig nipple through.

I believe schools have taken away trade schools, and now our country will have a lot of occupational trades that our young adults would love to learn from and I understand there is going to be be a bunch of jobs open very soon. Also this would be the same such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, canning, cooking, laundry, ironing, milking cows, 😢cleaning. We have been so busy working away from house we neglected our family arts. The dad could teach welding, knives… hinting hope you understand. ❤

Baby wanted her own plate of comfort food. Meg, I appreciate the way you utilize the food you have on had rather than going to get the "correct" ingredient. Hello, what a wonderful video! I watched a video from Modern Homestead Alaska, where they did a whole cow! Very informative. I watched this video and what i noticed was ALL the things that Meg made in one day. Canned chicken broth, made and decorated a cake and made dinner. I am sure there was breakfast and lunch in there somewhere. All the hard work all of you do and you are always smiling! And the gratitude you have for everything is truly wonderful. I know i say this a lot, but my parents and family lived on a farm when they first arrived in Canada. It truly was the best place for me as a child. My grand mother feeding 17 people with a coal and wood stove and all the preserving etc. I loved it! This is what i love about watching homesteading videos, even with all the hard work, it seems that everyone is happy! Thank you so much again for another amazing video and have a happy day!

Chicken Divan was a favorite in my house growing up, and I still make it regularly. I like to add lots of fresh lemon juice and roughly a tablespoon of curry powder. The lemon and curry together adds a bright richness that is SO tasty. We sometimes eat it with rice, but our preferred starch of choice is wide egg noodles. Now I'm hungry 😀

I'm glad that Biggy can help. I love your design of the chicken tractors. I hope this experiment goes very well. I'm glad you could just grab a couple at a time. Wow, maple, walnut syrup cake! Lorraine's recipe! Happy UnBirthday! It looks gorgeous! Wow, gallons of bone stock that you do when you butcher the chickens. So just do 2 canners full of chicken bone broth and then feed the rest to the pigs. The frosting looks great and the cake is beautiful all frosted with the walnut on top in the middle. Chicken and broccoli casserole for dinner! That looks so yummy Meg and an obscene amount of cheese! Thanks for this video Hollar family!

If you ever get a freeze dryer, you might try freeze drying your stock. It frees up lots of jars, plus the stock can be used as seasoning on just about everything! I love to "salt" our veggies with the powdered broth.

@@kathleengraves4647 Mason jars. I vacuum seal the lids down, but you could use an oxygen absorber, to store them long term. Once I've opened a new jar, I don't bother vacuum sealing after each use. It gets used pretty quickly!

My aunt made the best black walnut cake ever. She made me a six tier wedding cake as the best gift ever. Don’t you have a freeze drier? Chicken bone broth powder is awesome and great for winter drinks to stay warm and healthy….. Mylar bags of this would make great gifts along with Megs homemade noodles…. I collected acorns for our pig and it was so cute to watch him excited when I was heading his way with a bucket of them…..he’d jump around and grunt…crunching each one as I tossed them to him. I bet Buggy would enjoy doing that…throwing the piggies taut treats.
