I remember traveling through Virginia once and stopping at multiple Goodwills. It was sooo disappointing. I think every Goodwill region has different philosophies on quantity of hard goods versus clothes. I’ve found that NJ and OH have pretty decent Goodwills.

@@CrazyLampLady Yeah here in Washington state, our hard goods are usually only 2 aisles, one aisle of dishes, mugs, and glasses. Wood, baskets and (undefined) junk is another. ALL of these aisles are about 20% the length of yours. AND I was totally shocked when I saw yours with full aisles of glass/hard goods by color. 😳 Virtually all but the small frames are filled with “art” and therefore high priced.

Those heavy Natco items, close to the beginning of this video, are actually painted metal pieces from oil drilling related equipment. I used to live near the coast in Louisiana, where there are a lot of offshore drilling rigs, and my husband had a couple of those that we used as door stops.

Hi Jocelyn. Forgive me for assuming I know anything that you don't already know but just in case (lol) with vintage dinner services made in England, you will often find that the dinner plates are somewhat smaller than those you might find in a set made in the USA. The biggest plate will be the serving platter or in a tea service it will be the cake plate. It is funny how different markets work geographically because when I pick up Myott dinnerware at auction it is one of the easier brands to 'flip for a profit' in Ireland. I have had to rely on auctions now to get inventory to sell as our outlets for used goods are so small and generally a dead end. I am still not turning a profit and wonder if I ever will 😂. Maybe I'll call myself 'Crazy Auction Lady' lol. Watching all your videos with great interest and hoping baby Laurel is doing well. ❤

2nd comment - this Goodwill is priced more like my my local store, except all pottery (whether it's a shot glass or a plate), starts at $4.99. That is their rule. I just mentioned that in my posting. A friend and I always stop at the GW in Thurmont and then go to Mountain Gate for lunch afterwards. To be truthful, I always thought the Cozy Inn had better food, but since it no longer exists, it's nice to still have the Mountain Gate. The food is very good, but not quite as good as the food at the Cozy. There are now a couple of car dealerships where the Cozy stood and across the street too. It's a different feeling, but again, I'm glad the Mountain Gate is still in business! But, it's sad when things change so much!
