With that Betty Crocker bowl having a $35 price tag on it, my Goodwill would have priced it at $24.99 or $28.99. You're fortunate that your Goodwill still has reasonable prices :) Also, I agree with other comments that you are spoiling us with 2 videos a day this week, wow!! Thank you! Stay blessed 💖

Manganese is the photochemical that turns the glassware purple.

I think the yellow vase that is leaded at the top is Partylite. I have a smaller votive exactly like it.
I would have picked up the elephant bowl as cracking is natural for wood and not really considered to be damage.

I have 2, from my brother visiting Africa. I was told they are handmade in Africa, sold usually by the side of a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. The villagers cut them from a tree in one piece and hand scrape it out and paint it. They are all differently carved and shapes and have some animal on it. I’m not sure how to attach a pic or I would.

That glass vase that had the purple tint. I would have picked it up for myself. Is it manganese that causes the purple? It must have been very old. I understand in takes a LOT of years to achieve the color.

I really wish you had purchased the book on the cart, "Gifts from the Sea" by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. She was Charles Lindbergh's wife, and mother of the most famous case of kidnapping even today, that of Charles A. Lindbergh Jr. The poems are deeply beautiful and you can hear the grief, but despite the grief, her desire to live and be the best mother to her remaining children...the book is one of my all time favorites...

00:50 I'd go for that piece, especially with the provenance card included. 01:29 He's a bobblehead, but like a Kliban cat bobblehead. 01:48 It's a fifty-cent flat-wick tabletop ho-hum from what I can see. I wouldn't think it's worth the bother. 03:01 Is it really? Or is that by design? Counting down its spine, I get 1-2-and-3 spines grouped together which feels like intentional. Other than that, I think it's a Polyphemos from the Black Lagoon. 03:12 Yep, I'd call it as hobbyist but pretty dang good hobbyist. 05:13 Harold Feinstein was a VERY important photographer in New York from Mid-Century to the early 21st. This is probably one of the pieces copying his "scanography" prints (he figured out how to use a scanner as a camera, in 1998). You'll notice it's got a kinda 3-D effect to it. 05:37 No, luv ... PEE-uh-nees. They're incredibly, suffocatingly floral. Dagny is right to genteelly decline gagging after a hefty sniff. 06:17 They're bedsocks, and (this is a major concession, coming from me) cute. 06:27 Oh, a KiwiCo box! KiwiCo is a monthly subscription box meant for kids, intended to be both educational and Fun. That particular box is more aimed at the 3-to-6 set than at Juliette's age cohort. 08:32 It's a Thermos carafe model 2585, probably 1970s given that lucite handle. The original product tag's presence only adds. I would buy it. 09:06 It's called shisha (SHEE-shuh) and it's Indian. Much of it comes from the state of Rajasthan (RAHJ-a-stan) in the northwest. 09:29 Jurassic cornhole?? 😆 09:54 That wouldn't do at all badly. That's the sort of bag Alyks was using when we came to visit. They aren't highbrow (we got ours at Target) but they ain't bad either. 10:28 Joby or not, the knockoffs are nearly as good as the original. I wouldn't turn up my nose at it. (They're everywhere because at one time or another everyone's thought, "gee, I could make videos on KZbin!" and bought one or two.) 11:37 Huh. That pertickler pair's Korean. (If she's tackling them at age seven or eight, I applaud her.) 13:04 GAAAHH RUN AWAY RUN AWAY!!! Glass cutting boards are absolute DEATH CHEWING ON A CRACKER for your knives! They're one of the fastest ways possible to ruin a good set of knives. Leave 'em for the ignorant, and instead sell good wood (or MAYBE plastic) cutting boards that won't blunt every knife blade edge you got. 16:41 Now *THAT* is excellent! Hurley Machine was the very first company to offer a proper electric automatic washer, before 1910. They adopted the brand of Thor and the trademark "automagic" (note the G) pretty early on. This ad still has a war-effort pennant at the bottom but the copy talks about post-war, suggesting this is a 1945 ad when the end of the war was in sight but not there yet. 17:37 The element manganese (Mn). It's also used to make purple colours in pottery glazes. 18:06 RUN AWAY AGAIN!! RUN AWAY!! The Star Micronics NX-1000 printer dates all the way back to 1989, and good effin' luck finding parts or supplies ANYWHERE for it. 18:32 Yeah, but this one has flowers on it.
