Great video. I planned to buy a new switch because my dash lights won't stay bright with the headlights on. I can wiggle the switch and they will brighten for a bit then dim again. Now, thanks to this video, I will attempt to repair the old switch first. I'm glad I stumbled on this. Update: After watching this it took me about 30 minutes to repair the switch. The joints were cracked just like you said. Cleaned them up, and resoldered them. Works like a new one now. Which is good because a new switch is something like $97.00.

Great video. Watched this to see how to open up the switch to clean it. Dome lights won't go off, which then kills the battery. You showed I don't have to open it, but will have to solder it eventually. Solder stuff on order this week and I'll open it up and do some preventative maintenance before it becomes an issue. '96 with 69,000 miles. Definitely worth keeping it up.

I’m still hoping my father will one day part with his Jeep; my way of course! Good choice for a walkthrough! I’ll have to check this out on his. He said he’s been noticing flickering in his headlights when he’s out crawling in the woods looking for new blind spots!

It probably is, like I said in the video, anything electronic that fails on a Jeep, check the solder joints LOL
