I adopted my son when he was 13 and he hadn't seen his parents because they were drug addicts since he was 4 so he asked me when he was 18 if I could help him find his parent and I said of course but unfortunately I found out they both died from overdoses. I was devastated and it was so hard to tell him the news but the 1 good thing was we found his sister who he hadn't seen since he was 4 and she was 2. So I bought tickets after talking to his sister and we flew to Texas from Philly and I didn't tell him until we got to the hotel room why we were there and he lost it and just broke into tears. Now she has moved up here and we all celebrate every holiday together with my sons kids and his sisters kids. So glad I was able to help him find her.

I was separated from my older brother and sister when we were put in orphanages in Russia. I was 8 months old and I got adopted at the age of 2 where I was brought to America. My brother and sister never got adopted. My sister was looking for me ever since I was adopted. She couldn’t find me because my adoptive parents changed my name. I only found out about my brother and sister 3 years ago. A few months ago someone helped me find them online. We have been talking non stop online using a translator. I am hoping to make a trip by next year to Russia to meet them.

As an adopted child I know there are many things that have to line up in order to be able to adopt multiple siblings. There needs to be enough space at the home of the adopted parents, they need to meet the rules of the adopted country with federal and state regulations, and they need to meet certain requirements as a couple (some agencies require they need to be married, plan on having a certain number of children, must be Catholic, etc) so there ya go!

Alex saying "I love you too Mama" radiates how much he loves and trusts her ❤ And I'm sobbing at Josh's initial reaction to Alex. Alex is happy to actually meet a blood relative again; and it's extra special that it's his older brother. On the other hand, it felt like Josh is like "I finally found him". That older sibling mentality of needing to be protective of the younger ones. My heart is so happy they found each other again ❤❤

To me to take the other two, but not all three and leave one all alone is just heartless. How could anyone do that?! I myself have 5 brothers and 1 sister and I couldn't imagine the pain and grief of being separated from them. I wouldn't ever have been able to do that. I would've insisted to adopt all 3.

I'm 38. My long lost sister just found me. We were separated when I was like 3 due to adoption. She was adopted. I remained in foster care. This Thanksgiving I found our mother. I'm meeting my sister Monday. Your videos have brought me to tears but I love you for making them. I'm nervous. The more we find out the more horrid the story gets, but I think knowing is necessary. Do you have any tips for me? Anyways, you are such great adopting parents and it really feels like God is in your lives. Sorry for venting.

I'm very late but he was separated from his siblings when he was 4, he got adopted to a different family with 4 other kids when he was 6 who were very abusive(the adopted dad is in prison and has been sentenced to 18 years for what was done) At age 12 he got put back into a shelter after cps finally did something than he was found by this family who adopted him from 2015 till now. He recently got to reunite with his little sister bc she turned 18 and got to choose herself(her family didn't want her to have contact with his family)

kibummiex hansol X baekhyun incorrect. I’ve been a DCF case manager for a long time. It’s not the adoptive parents fault. It’s the broken foster care system. There’s limitations and wrongful placements that often split of siblings throughout the duration of being in care.

Speaking as a former foster child this makes me happy to see the two brothers re-united. It is unfortunate that they were separated at such young ages. Hopefully they can build a relationship and a bond starting now. I’ve experienced a situations where a family did not want all the children however, the foster parents also did not want to split the siblings up, so two sisters were foster parents and they both took a set of the siblings to keep them together somewhat. It may not be ideal but at least theses siblings could see one another regularly as opposed to being completely separated.
@BMarie774
@BMarie774 5 жыл бұрын
MLO I understand in some extreme cases how it's necessary. That being said, if children have to be split up the state should absolutely make sure they have an active relationship. That means visitation. And visitation that exceeds spending an hour or so in a room every once in a while. They should make use that sibling bond is maintained. It,in my opinion, is there responsibility, if children have to be split up.
@BMarie774

However now that I look back on. I know that it was not my brother's fault that he almost lost custody of me but the system is corrupt but thankfully my brother won custody of me and he raised me and I love him dearly. That's the adoptive family's fault. I couldn't and wouldn't have seperated the three of them personally, i think it is cruel. My wife and I have had eleven foster kids over the years and we adopted nine of them (four sets of siblings), the other two ultimately returned to family.my four brothers and I were foster kids, and I was adopted with my youngest brother, it's taken twenty seven years to find my other three siblings because of privacy laws.

My mother was a foster parent when I was growing up. Only too often we would have siblings in the system and we would always take both of them. Separating children should never happen.

Aaron and Crystal....I just watched part 2 of Alex's birthday celebration and I think it's so wonderful how Josh has become a member of your family. He let Ariana straighten his hair just as if he was a member of your family. And to see how ALL your children (not just Alex) are so appreciative of everything you do for them is wonderful. This is a great testament to the love and support you give to each of those children; the love and support ALL children should have. I was beaten as a child and it brings a tear to my eyes to see these children in a caring and loving home and all the patience you two have. I would normally say your children are very lucky, but I think you are all lucky to have each other.

The CPS, Foster Care system is cruel altogether. There are so many good people but at the same time bad people that don't try to see past issues that could be dealt with before choosing to move a child or two. The system tends to make decisions that aren't ultimately needed, AND I can say first hand is I've been in the Foster system and so many times they try to adopt me and I was aging out and try to move me from placements that I had already adjusted to. Foster care makes kids long for relationships that they probably won't be able to keep as kids who grow super close to each other end up separated. But at the end of the day, I'm thankful that I know a God who was willing to help me through my problems, who filled me with his spirit (the holy ghost through the evidence of speaking in other tongues; Acts 2:38), and who has made a way when I thought there was no way.

You're making a lot of assumptions. Maybe his brother was in another placement at the time, maybe there was another reason to put the sibling in a separate home. The law does require it otherwise.

Alex is the greatest kid. It must have been devastating for him to be rejected and separated from his siblings. The family that took him in later was very abusive. Thank God that CPS extracted Alex, Hannah and Hannah’s bio sister and gave them to Aaron and Crystal. Those two people are the parents every child deserves. They made sure Alex got the counseling he needed and rebuilt him from the ground up. Sometimes things do work out for the best.
