When I was 3-4 years old, and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I said I wanted to be a cat. Later I grew up and realized I couldn’t be a cat. Wow I will say it again I'm in therapy for half a year now, which was long overdue. I have struggled with myself for a very long time and find myself in a burnout/depression. Things are turning around at the moment and this channel, which i stumbled across 2 months ago, has helped with that more than you would expect. Not only is this entertaining and makes me laugh, but his serious moments about loving yourself, how to handle toxic people/parents etc are so helpful and whenever i finish watching a video i feel better. as an artist myself, who struggles a lot with getting commissions and exposure, it feels borderline depressing to talk about what i "should" do to get the exposure, when i already know what i should be doing. the hard part about it is that when you start drawing for exposure, it can be hard to feel motivated, especially when it's proven in the past that it doesn't guarantee anything, and with how many idea's come to you, it's so easy to start drawing your own characters, which will be even less likely to do well, it's a pretty nasty spiral that makes it really hard to continue sometimes. i still always appreciate people that take their time to show their interest and care to share idea's, even tho it makes me aware of how shitty it is, it feels very bitter-sweet in that regard
