My favorite podcaster used to dress in skirts on Halloween… that’s when he realized he could dress wear a skirt whenever he wanted. Then he wore the worst linen clothes on survivor….. should have worn his skirt. Would have made it past the first episode 💯

I got stuck on a flight between two very large football players... .the whole flight they were apologizing, and offered to buy me drinks and such... Wasn't a long flight, but still. :D I'm glad they were both really kind.

I LOVE your comparison of gender with introversion/extroversion!! I've always had trouble really understanding trans/non-binary people as a cis woman. I still try my best to be supportive, but because I don't have the lived experiences those people go through it has been hard to empathize with them, yk? Your comparison finally made everything click (no pun intended) into place for me. Thanks!! :)

The analogy I always use for abortions is that it's like getting a root canal. Nobody is happy about getting one. Everyone would be happy never having to get one. But sometimes you need one, and you damn well better have access when that happens, because the consequences of ignoring it can be disastrous.

Years ago, I was in a shopping centre (Australian version of a mall), and there was a pop-up booth with a guy selling Firefighter calendars. I said I was all for supporting the charity they were doing it for, but I wasn't completely comfortable with having a shirtless man calendar. Without a second's pause, the gentleman picked up a different calendar and said 'In this one, they're holding cute puppies.' I was so impressed with their blatantly mercenary pandering in the name of a good cause that I ending up buying a calendar that I never used. It was like 'traumatising for a good cause', only with shirtless men and puppies.

Hey there y'all! For people who get chronic migraines, and/or frequent nausea, get your blood pressure checked! I used to get frequent migraines(with aura), and frequent nausea (separate from the nausea I get with migraines), and I'm on meds now that lower my blood pressure, and generally don't get daily nausea anymore. I also get much less frequent migraines. Obviously not a one size fits all thing, but still something to get checked out if you can! High BP can have some pretty subtle symptoms, that only become obvious AFTER you get treated for it, which is why I like to point it out now that I know.

My best friends girl friend almost convinced me and my bf to have a foursome. Why? Because what she said made sense but that doesn’t make us enjoy it. Ideas are not reality people. It’s okay to try and decide no. It’s also okay to try and enjoy something you didn’t think you would. Edit: I don’t like this girl anymore and ended up punching her in the jaw. Broke my thumb because I’m a lil bish. Never hit anyone else in my life. It wasn’t over this instance but the manipulation got out of hand. I think it’s wild to try and convince people of these kinds of things. If it takes pressure from others to convince you, it’s not your idea and when it comes to naughties…. You should not take convincing to do something

For the a-hole who deleted his (thankfully ex's) Sims save files, I read a follow up to this story by the partner's side. His story was awful, but even that version was watered down for how he treated her. She found his post and called out on his abusive behavior towards her and her life, additional points for him, his friends and family being racist and treating her like crap. And he not only deleted her save files, he destroyed her hardware (which contained backup files) with a hammer and it left a mark on his countertop according to her. I was so glad to hear that she broke up with him, but wow the situation was even worse than the original post.

Had something similar to the blood donation story happen to me. I was being pestered by people as to why I wouldn't donate blood, and I had to remind them the part of being asked if they had been to certain parts of Europe during the late 80s-early 90s. I was born in Germany during that time frame and can not donate blood because of the risk of mad cow disease. (They will not let you donate even if you had never contracted it.)

14:30 That's the thing about America, Click. In these right wing circles, people getting abortions are depicted as GLEEFULLY SKIPPING TO CLINICS TO ABORT THEIR "BABY" AND THEN GO DRINKING AND DO DRUGS. It's fucked and it comes from this puritanical idea of "If a person does one thing I find unacceptable, they must be doing EVERY thing I find unacceptable"

22:08 some people don't change until they've lost everything; when they've bottomed out. It is easy to take the perspective that they were always capable of change but unwilling to change for you, and it is a valid perspective. But another valid perspective is that losing you may have been what woke them up to how they needed to change.

Yet again, someone chooses to believe the version of reality that makes somebody else a Bad Person(TM) despite there being plenty of other possible explanations including the correct one. Bleh! ..and another one! What is it with teachers that they always choose to assume students are lying or faking health conditions, even when the teachers knows it has been diagnosed by medical professionals and needs accommodating. Do they think people use insulin for fun? With the phobias, I think certain kinds of people have this weird idea that only some phobias are valid. Theirs always is, of course but other people's have to be on the List of Approved Phobias(TM) to count.

On questions like "how long to cut a board into x number of pieces" and "how long for 60 vs 120 musicians to play a symphony" I totally get what the teacher who wrote the question is _trying_ to do. It's basic entry-level algebra through word problems. But maybe you should pick examples that make sense. Or have these kinds of questions inserted as a test of students' critical thinking skills. That would honestly be a really interesting use case for trick questions: Will my students understand that this question doesn't make sense and be able to explain why?

A reminder, Clicky, that being a lesbian is not "a lifestyle". It's something you are from birth and discover about yourself later. A small oops, but one I had to correct, as I cannot let even mild, minor homophobia slip past.

ok so Ill add another layer. Since Click brought up martial arts. So when my older brother was being bullied on the bus to and from school (another boy kept pulling on his P no idea what that was about) My mom went to the Bus company, who sent her to the school, who sent her to the bus company...... and while she tried all the "proper" ways to address he son essentiall getting "naughty" assaulted on the bus she enrolled him in Karate. She told Bro that when he felt he was ready he should stand up for himself and hit back. It took a bit My bro is well a bro and took the teachings of you know not abusing your power and mom basically had to explain that karate is for defence yes and that includes yourself. So after about a month and trying everything else Bro was ready. He was to defend himself and when the adults came he was to ONLY say "Call my Mom" who would have car running (only land lines at time and she would have to answer phone). Bro got a week of going for ice cream, seeing movies, and all around fun with mom. sorry this was long but had to share

I remember one time I was shopping at Walmart, and this random old woman just walked up to me, looked at my frozen pizza, canned ravioli, cat food, and soda, and told me, "If you want to get married you shouldn't shop like you're single." Honestly, I wish I had some kind comeback, but I just kinda walked away, ashamed of my eating habits.

C'mon now, the hat thing is a bad analogy. The skull's a bone, it doesn't change size after you stop growing. It bears no relation to the female pelvic floor, the only muscle in the world that gets weaker and slacker the more it's exercised.
