Even then though, it still sucked cause it was basically impossible to get more diamonds, gems, whatever they were called on there without paying so you were pretty much locked out of everything interesting. That was one of the reasons I completely left it for Choices, the stories were all reliably good and you could watch ads to get free diamonds (It actually got even better too since now there's more ways to get them for free). No matter which was first, Episode was never that good, it just got more obvious the more bad user-made stories were made.

Yeah, I played homescapes for a bit in a paid app thing (some of the "paid to play" apps are actually real, you’re basically just play testing the apps for them and getting paid a little for your time). I was surprised after all the crappy adds that it was actually a fairly enjoyable time waster. They honestly sell themselves short with the awful ads.

7:35 sadly, app developer have caught on to this, and now the ads don’t require an Internet connection to pop up (even though clicking the ad with no internet doesn’t let you buy the product anyway, so there’s no point other than to annoy players into buying the ad-free version)
