So THAT was ridiculously easy. I love that there's a level! That's just smart. I may need to invest in those. Also? Adorable puppy is adorable.
@LucysCorsetry9 жыл бұрын
+torrinpaige It was super easy, but next time I may have my mom help. It's now been proven that I can do it on myself but it would take a fraction of the time with the help of someone else. :p And my pup has been clingy these last few months - it's like now that I'm back in school, she needs to maximize her time with me when I am at home.

Great Review! I think I might order one so when my husband cuts my hair he feels more confident. I still self trim the old way using my fingers, but I plan on going much shorter which will be harder to continue my old method. My hair has reached 7ft! When I have a more positive energy in my life I am trimming/cutting. Right now I am caring for a terminally ill parent and its just not the right time to cut my hair. Your hair grew so long Lucy! It looks beautiful :)

+PalemoonTwilight Nooooo, I will never try it. Using an electric razor on hair causes more split ends in the long run! straightrazorplace.com/general-razor-shaving-related-discussion/102705-straight-close-up-vs-electric-close-up-hair.html
@PalemoonTwilight8 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you for answering, Lucy! I do trim my own long hair with a very sharp scissors. I use a method similar to your old one. Now I have ordered my faux CreaClip from Amazon, and I'm looking forward to trying this newer method. I have very long, fine-textured hair, and even with the use of hair masks and sulfate-free cleansers, I do get splits. I find myself having to search through the strands for splits so that I can snip them off. I wish there were an easier way...but I guess the level of commitment it takes to have healthy long hair is what it is. If you have any ideas of what else I could be doing to manage those crummy split ends, please let me know. Thank you. Peace.

*Sobs* when your "thin ends" section is how voluminous (or not) my hair is at the widest portion. I have a ton of hair, its just soooo fine. But nothing I can do to improve on what nature gave me in regards to hair thickness. Still kinda jealous though. ;) ha ha
@DaarkDestiny8 жыл бұрын
+Alexa Faie Have you tried biotin. I tried it for a few months about a year ago and it actually made some of the strands of my hair thicker. About half of my hairs are almost double the thickness of the rest. I have the same problem, my hair is very fine even though I have a lot of it. But it's become a lot thicker. I'm going to start taking it again, and I guess it couldn't hurt lol :)

nice to know. I have only had my hair cut in a shop once since the 1980's and that was 2007 so I could get a razor cut (which I loved but it was short) . I do it buy parting my hair down the middle and pull it forward several times to make sure it is all cut and shaped. I think I will get a clip. I only plan to trim my hair til I die. so it will be a good investment. I bun my hair or side loose ponytail and I have short around my (framed ) face. it gets i ny eyes .....I can't seem to get past that to grow them out . I to leave it longer on the side of face for a softer look when up do. I cut about half of the amount you did. thanks for the vid.

If there are ever any "hair goals" that I would set, your hair would embody those goals! How exactly does your hair grow a foot a year? Do you take biotin or any other vitamins or oils? or does your hair just grow that quickly?
@LaviniaDeMortalium9 жыл бұрын
+SingToMe42 She's mentioned in the past i believe that it's mostly genetics. If you click on her channel and go into Playlist, she has one on her hair. It really is beautiful isn't it?
@Angelica-rg2mf9 жыл бұрын
+SingToMe42 it's 99% genetics. I have it almost that long, mabe 2 inches less and mine it's BLEACHED. I have friends who've never died their hair and they can't grow it past their boobs.
@MrsBrit19 жыл бұрын
My hair is the same length as Lucy's. I appear to grow about 9" a year. I don't take anything or do anything specific or special to make it grow....it just grows!
@LucysCorsetry9 жыл бұрын
+SingToMe42 It's probably "almost" a foot, maybe 9-10 inches? The ends are reaching their terminal length so any apparent growth is slow there. But my bangs grew from about 4 inches to the same length as the rest of my hair within 4-5 years, with occasional trims. A lot of it is genes, but I've also put more focus on eating well, choosing nutrient-dense foods without obsessing about calories. Hair and skin are technically last in the hierarchy to get nutrients and they're the first to show malnutrition.

@LucysCorsetry9 жыл бұрын
+Haifa Al-Moaty It's a little heavy but I tend to separate it into 2 sections and wash each side while the weight is supported by my shoulders. Also I never brush my hair in the shower; I brush before washing and then detangle after, and I noticed that prevents a lot of hair from pulling out.

Can I ask you a question about shampoo? Have you ever tried a pure-natural shampoo? I am using a new shampoo: the ingredients are water, saponified coconut oil, olive oil, castor bean oil, almond oil, peppermint essential oil, rosemary essential oil, and grapefruit seed extract. What would be the proper way to use this? I normally use suave or pantene (whatevers cheap) and my hair feels so heavy and looks almost greasy after using this natural stuff. (obvi, it has a ton of oil in it, but how is this supposed to work?)
@LucysCorsetry8 жыл бұрын
+Megan Scarborough I've tried Green Beaver shampoo - there is an adjustment period. I recommend using a clarifying shampoo before you switch over to the natural stuff, so that all the product buildup is gone and you have a clean slate to work with. You might find that you have to shampoo a little more often for awhile, then you can back off when your scalp stops overproducing sebum and your hair adjusts. Use a light conditioner without silicone, if you need any conditioner at all.

I can't imagine a foot of growth a year. Oh, the envy. 👿 I get maybe six inches and feel like I'm fighting for every inch of it. I cut about eight inches last September to get rid of the last bits of layering I had from the time when I thought I would be happy with bsl and that layers would give it more movement. The length just made me sad and the layers made my hair look stringy. So, back above bsl after the trim but my braid doesn't taper and it will grow again.

why ridiculously long hair ? no, this is not ridiculous, but looked great. I wouldn't think either cutting bangs or layers is a good idea, since the shorter hait would more get in the way, rather than long stay in the back. At least you tried the CreaCLip, I guess that was the main goal?
