Maybe adding a idler under the print bed to help keep tension on the steel band? It could be adjustable to fine tune the tension better.

I have a cr10 mini that I am considering replacing the bed with a belt. Would the steps be the same as to what you did on the cr10s? If so, would you recommend it if you had to do it all over again?
@EricRobb2 жыл бұрын
The conversion would be fairly similar with the cr-10 mini, and I would recommend it if its something you would use and are fairly handy.

Hey. Would you be interested in hooking that beast up to a public web based 3d print queue allowing you to set your price and allow local pickup of parts? You would just have to install an octoprint plugin and configure your location and slicer profile.

It would be quite a cool experiment to design a belt to a Voron-like printer you know. I mean, core x-y machines are already quite stable and the cool thing about the voron is that the print bed stays still at the bottom of the printer while the print head moves with the x-y core and the zed shift. So it would be a simple addition right? A belt conveyor in the bottom and the whole printing mechanism would be the same. When the print finishes a motor could simply roll the bel (perhaps it would not even require a stepper motor since the precision of the movement would not matter) and it would be ready for the next print. What are your thoughts about it?

Ok, I have a question: you're printing skirts, etc. How are they being removed if that's a continuous belt, and what happens if a print won't pop off the bed at the end of the belt?
@EricRobb2 жыл бұрын
If I am printing skirts sometimes in the video that a mistake, because you are right, there is no way to remove them. Unless you just hope that the printing doesn't print in the same places over and over again. Let me know if this didn't answer your question. Have a great Day!

I wanted to do something similar but to an ender3, it was the belt that hung me up 😞

Yeah, the belt held me up for a bit too. Hope this helps!

Make new rollers with a slightly larger diameter in the middle of the cylinder.
Well done! This is on my list for years! I was afraid of the belt shifting left and right... what did You do against it?
@EricRobb2 жыл бұрын
The rollers aren't flat, the have an arch in the center, which makes it auto center the belt. My biggest problem with the rollers in getting enough traction so I don't loose steps on the y axis. That's why there is electrical tape on there to help with that, and i was thinking about putting some silicone on them to replace the electrical tape but I never have.
