I've got over 300 hours on my K2 Plus already with nothing but amazing print quality, and so far, I’m loving it. I was deciding between this and the X1C, but the larger bed size won out, plus, it comes stock with Klipper, which was a big deal for me. I saw a commenter mention their "taco shaped" bed, and what a lot of people don’t realize about bed meshing is that the visualization magnifies surface deviations to make it more clear to the user what's going on. When you're looking at a 350mm x 350mm bed, of course, it’s going to appear exaggerated in the mesh preview. Mine also looks taco shaped, but in reality, the variance from the highest to the lowest point is only 0.5mm which is well within the compensation range for these machines. My first layers come out perfect every time, no tweaking needed. I just slice and print. That said, I’ve seen quite a few K2 Plus horror stories and regrets. While my experience with the K2 has been nothing but positive, I still wouldn’t recommend one right away simply because it’s Creality, and they don’t have the best track record with new releases. If you wait a year, you’ll have a much better chance of avoiding the "Creality Lotto" when buying one.
@WARPAINTandUnicorns6 күн бұрын
@@TheModShopCO yeah even 6 months there should be most of the firmware up dates Creality is doing completed as well. My bed is 1mm off (high in the center low in the corners) but you can adjust that with the bottom screws. I haven’t done it yet because I’ve been printing mostly in the center but I want to see if more reps printing will relax it first. You can use SCREWS_TILT_CALCULATE as well as screws_tilt_adjust in Klipper to figure out how to adjust your bed.

Not a Bambu stan, but, the 2 Things Creality still lacks IMO: - Slicer ease of use. Not sure about this machine in particular, but new creality machines still require tinkering to calibrate filament out of the box, considering their proprietary slicers are terrible. Bambu just wins on that front. I still havent had to calibrate a single filament using my bambu and bambu slicer. - And print quality, the pic of the Pikachus at the end are a good example. You can still see zitting, layer inconsistencies, it just ... looks 3D printed. most of my bambu prints come off so smooth and clean sometimes they dont even look 3D printed. Now the Pikachu prints could be that the filament wasnt tuned properly by the user, but that goes back to my first point. Ignoring the Bambu drama, Bambu still has the upper hand in user experience. "They just work." As someone who like to 3D print, but doesnt enjoy tinkering with 3D printers, that is what still keeps me away from creality. Theyre ALMOST there, but they still just keep pumping out new models as fast as humanly possible and they need to slow down, and make a winner. Not 15 models are are slightly better than the last

I know I am in the minority, I'd love for you to cover Printers with built in WIFI that do not require an app or cloud account to simply send a print directly to your printer on your LAN. Do these new Creality Printers have some sort of LAN only mode?. My first printers, ender 3's I was happy to walk over the USB stick to the printer, then the CR10 Smart Pro falsely offered WIFI which only connected you to Creality App, so by the time you made a model, uploaded to Creality cloud, sliced and then sent to print, it would have been quicker to walk over the USB stick. Only saving grace there was Sonic Pad. I just want a Bambu style Printer (they really changed the game) minus all the fluff and BS that comes with "being connected". Would love to hear your thoughts.
@KeoPrints8 күн бұрын
Sure I get that. From what I’ve seen on this machine, there is no need to sign into WiFi. You can print from the usb stick and never hook the thing up to any cloud service. As far as a LAN mode that allows for monitoring through the app, I am not certain. I would imagine it can be disconnected while still retaining the functionality of the app in a local capacity
@XTC3D8 күн бұрын
@@KeoPrints Thanks, I'm a lazy bugger and walking over a USB stick is so old school. I don't want or need an app or a cloud service, with Bambu in lAN only mode i can send a print from Orca directly over wifi to the printer and even monitor it via Orca with the camera. " No App required" , No Cloud required" .That's all I need. I am not sure of the future of that however with Bambu controversy over terms of service "walled garden becoming a prison". Sonic pad for Creality was a game changer because it gave you the same experience with Creality. No app, no cloud, connect up the Sonic and send a print from Orca directly to the printer. I guess all i wanted to know is does anyone make a printer that has that capability without you having to buy or add on things like sonic, or Big Tree tech pad 7 etc. It's not rocket science and should easy to accomplish.
@l0ckmanjohn8 күн бұрын
I haven't tried that with my k2 yet i just got it yesterday. but you can definitely do that with the k1 max. just add the ip address to orca slicer and it handles sending the print. I believe i heard that it works the same with the k2 except i don't think orca is able to assign which spools to print from, i think it tells it how many colors and maybe even which colors but doesn't know which spool has each, so you have to manually select that on the screen. Single color it should work easily though.

Also - the "blockage" culprit is like the filament sensor inside the hub on the bottom of the CMS (where all the PTFE tubes converge before exiting). The little board with the 4 filament sensors has a fault that can result in presence being detected where there is none. Most commonly observed after a retraction, where the system pulls the roll all the way back - but still thinks its there. Since it still thinks theres filament in, lets say, bay #2 - if wont let you load new filament into that bay. Support replaced mine when it failed after about 10-20 hours

But I don’t wanna know about an issue is almost had and resolved. Some ppl get confused and think there’s a real issue. Sometimes there is. But in my case I have literally just hit ok or retry and there was no issue. So it’s like it triggered the code but resolved itself so I just needed to clear the code. I think i will be glad i got mine. It just finally came in yesterday after waiting nearly a month. Mine didn't have any broken hinges or feet like I've seen several people mention (though those are easy fixes and Creality seems to be good about sending replacements) I printed a multi color benchy and it was perfect, I've had about half a dozen 3d printers and this was the first to not need any tuning to get a perfect benchy. then i decided to try petg i printed a poop chute then a cover for the chute, both came out perfect. Next i tried to print a battery dispenser. I don't know what happened, but while printing the first or second layer i got a filament jam. filament jams aren't a huge deal normally but with the cfs that sits on top of the machine it is very difficult to get to the extruder. I had to cut the filament in the cfs then remove that bottom section on the cfs in order to get the filament unstuck enough to remove any Bowden tubes then had to go down the line removing each Bowden tube along the way in order to get the Boden tube removed from the extruder. I finally got those done and unplugged the cfs so i could move it out of the way to open the top of the machine. Then with the hotend heated to 250c i had to use a good amount of force to pull the filament free so i could remove the extruder. i finally get that done and everything put back together, then i get a message saying the cutter isn't installed. I had to give up for the night. hopefully when i get home and have a chance to work on it everything will be ok. If i didn't have many years of 3d printer experience i probably would've given up. but i love this machine and the prints it did do were great, and the petg lifted off the bed without any effort once it cooled. I'm very impressed and annoyed with this machine, but i think I'll love it anyways once it's running again.

I don't know if that solved a problem I wasn't aware of but I just don't have issues printing PLA with the door closed. I do let the exhaust fan do it's thing. If it's exhausting air from the inside it's pulling cool air in somewhere. I with say Bambu seems to have good tech support that responds fairly quickly. In regards to my Creality Raptor X, tech support is slow, clearly doesn't speak decent English and offers no real support.

My experience with brittle filament is that it stops being brittle when you remove the moisture. PLA, ABS same thing they snap easily until you dry it. Someone gave me 6 year old PLA and it snapped with every movement. I simply put it in the oven then into a drybox and I can bend it fairly well now. Same thing happened with ABS. Very old ABS and it was really brittle. I didn't even put it in the oven I just put it in a bag with a large amount of desiccant and the problem got fixed.

"Creality is setting the standard again" well - if that's the case then how come EVERY video is a comparison to Bambu? And EVERY video has these nit-pickynlitrle things that have to be adjusted on the Creality printers to get them to perform like a Bambu printer does OUT OF THE BOX? Sorry - I don't have time to be a CAD modeler, a printing company AND a printer tuning expert - I don't have to tune or adjust my laser printer or my ink jet printer - I just bought it, full it with consumables and press the print button. That's what I want from a $1000 3d printer. So stop already with how Creality is SO great, because it's good, and I have a Creality printer and it does print good, but it's slow, it requires a shit ton of tinkering before it got to printing good and my Bambu P1S was BETTER right out of the box.

That looks to be about the same as the worst surface my p1S has put out in a year and a half. Strange... Regarding the chamber temperature, and venting out, on my Voron Trident I used the back fan and printed an adapter for a flexible hose (like those in vacuum cleaners) and put the exit out the window when I am printing. I run the fan at 100% for PLA, and slowly when printing ABS or ASA. Negative pressure means no smells in the room, and when the print finishes, kipper runs the fan at 100% for 5 minutes. I really don’t understand why this is not a feature on all enclosed printers.

It is indeed difficult to understand. I started building the exhaust for mine when I made my entire apartment stink when I was printing the parts to mount the enclosure on the Trident. I am planning a more powerful exhaust using a 12cm fan from a server on the exit of the tube. This way the noise stays outside and get better cooling for PLA, while the noctua is silently keeping a slight negative pressure in the enclosure.

@@shuflie There are spool adapters available to print for most brand's cardboard spools. As @KeoPrints writes, it's a non-negotiable IMO. Certainly cheaper and more efficient than transferring to a plastic spool.

To remove the faceplate, all you have to do is lift up slightly on the cable chain that is above the toolhead. The faceplate can be removed easily without moving the toolhead to the front of the machine. 🙂

Maybe it’s just mine being the first version, my ams is the worst part of owning my bambu printer. It has to be taken apart so often that I don’t even put the screws back in anymore. Definitely interested in the k2 plus with cfs, would like to see a follow up after many hours of use

how strict is that "no tpu" warning in the CFS? do you know what hardness it start to struggle at? the one reason i want a multi material unity instead of just a multi-color thing that some others make is that i want the material compatabilities, or incompatabilities to make my life easier

Aside from the obvious (price and build volume) between the Qidi Plus 4 and the K2; which seems to “better”? (Speed, reliability, ease of use etc?)
@KeoPrints7 күн бұрын
So from what I can gather, the quality is comparable. The Creality I believe will be faster by default but only just. As for quality, I would say they are also fairly neck and neck. The Creality obviously has more features but both feel the same amount of cheap/premium in their respective areas

What do you recommend for a great beginner printer?
@KeoPrints2 күн бұрын
I would recommend the Bambu A1 mini for a beginner. Just beware of the company’s scummy anti-consumer practices. If that’s something that doesn’t worry you, then it is a great platform. Otherwise, I don’t have any personal experience with any printers that are less than $500 that offer the same or similar approachability. The Qidi plus 4 is great and boasts an excellent value and the creality K2 has been excellent as well. Hopefully that helps a little

Without an ams/cfs, it's about twice the price of a P1S, but 500USD cheaper than a single-tool unenclosed Prusa XL if you're just looking at a comparable build volume... with the next Bambu expected to be priced above the X1C, it will be interesting to see if it offers anything beyond what this K2 brought to the table.

12:38 "Why is no one else doing this". Mainly because its patent infringement of Stratasys chamber fan temp control and they have went after basically everyone else that has put it in their machines. Also Creality has already gave up on their RFID system, as well as were using a proprietary RFID code anyhow so unless someone creates a firmware for it, its about a useless sensor currently AFAIK.
