I'm always so impressed by the steps you take for Annie, and all the children. Thanks for this recipe, replacing the tinned cr soup was on my list to figure out, this is a big help. Your canning pantry proves it's worth the efforts, and saves the day.

Adding this to my rotation. I actually hate the texture of mushrooms but love the flavor so I dehydrate and powder mushrooms. I also can shredded chicken. Cream of celery is now hard to find but it’s one of my favorites so I grow celery, dehydrate, and powder, lol. This will definitely get used. I have all of these spices either homegrown or purchased from a high quality supplier. Thanks!

Love this video !!! Can we add different seasonings to the mix ? Or maybe take away ?
@TealHouseFarm2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! The first 3 ingredients give the texture/consistency to replace the canned soup…the rest is up to your taste buds’ preference.

I found this interesting. Btw how is your daughter doing. Personally I am in a unique situation. Because of 5 different cancers I barely have a voice and I eat through a stomach tube. Because I have lost part of my insurance I have been buying nido powdered milk, soups that I filter out chunks because they wont go through the tube. Anyway I have been looking for powdered soups as a change of pace. Thank you for the new idea for a cream of anything soup. Could open up a new world for me and be better for me. Hope everything is going well. Again thank you for brodening my possible options.

I want you to know, I’m 66 and had healthy for growing up. And I eat healthy now. But I have young relatives in their 20 and 40s with cancer or tumors from all the chicken nugget and crap. Keep pushing a healthy lifestyle and for kids with extra problems. The food nowadays is poison. Use your platform to help other families.

I am interested in trying this since soup is so expensive right now (if I can talk my husband into it). Could chicken base be used instead of bouillon? We switched to that about 30 years ago and don't buy bouillon.

I have a question un related to the mix. Is your pork steaks smoked or salted? Mine has no taste. We didn't have either this time around.
@TealHouseFarm2 жыл бұрын
These are neither. The gravy gives it a lot of flavor. You can also salt and pepper the steaks and brown them before putting them in the crock pot if you want a stronger meatier flavor too!

I can vacuum seal my jars. How long will this last like that?
@TealHouseFarm Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure…if it didn’t have powdered milk in it I’d say a few years. But I would look up shelf life for vacuum sealed dry milk and use that as your estimate
@BucktownLady66 Жыл бұрын
Most "powdered" milk is recommend to use within 18 months but that is just the "best by date" According to the USDA powered milk can be stored indefinitely so I would imagine if we vacuumed sealed our jars in between use it would last us a long time....I am going to try it anyways. I am wondering when I dehydrate my mushrooms, I blanch them for 2 minutes prior to the dehydrating process wonder if I would can the broth and use that broth for this..... has anyone out there tried this Cream of Base Mix for mushroom soup and how did you do it? 🙂
@TealHouseFarm Жыл бұрын
I don't add broth, but I do dehydrate the mushrooms and then add a teaspoon of the powder when I mix up a serving of the dry mix for a recipe. It works well that way!
@pattitucker42122 жыл бұрын
What is the shelf life for this?
@TealHouseFarm2 жыл бұрын
Powdered milk is recommended to be used up by three months after it is opened. But if you want to extend the shelflife of the mix to year(s) you can keep it in your freezer or use an oxygen absorber in the jar.
