@@Kraus- Well, 0.5 added the entire train system and steam engines as well as overhauling a lot of old functionality. We used to use furnace engines for end-game power, which were very powerful for not a lot of fuel cost. It was particularly broken when considering you could use mods like IE to make generators that gave you 64kSU essentially for free. I had a design that used 4 furnaces surrounding an IE furnace heater that make a lot of rotational power for less than 100RF/t. To be fair, they weren't that cheaper to make than steam engines, still needing a lot of brass in mechanical crafters.

The copycat step doesn’t actually have any custom textures, but what it does for example on the square side is take the 4x4 pixels from each corner of the block and uses them for the texture. You can see this on the bookshelf. In a copycat step, it looks like the books are cut in half.

I believe it is because the create stuff is intuitive. A pulley does exactly what you would expect a pulley does. A conveyor belt does exactly what a conveyor belt is expected to do. Etc. I would not be surprised if one of the key mantras the create developers is "it does what it says on the tin". In the opposite direction you have redstone. Which just looks like random blocks to people who don't already know; and they are impossible for people to figure out without extensive outside help. Like the comparator, for example. It doesn't compare anything, ever, and it never did. Comparators translate a block's state into a redstone signal. A better name for the comparator would be translator. While still confusing, would make sense to anyone who played around with it. At least with translator you can look at the block and play around with it, to figure out what it does. Comparators are a prime case where it does not do what it says on the tin.

The comparator can also compare two different input strengths, one from the side and one from the front, and give out an redstone signal by subtracting the two inputs (torch on) or just give a signal, if one is greater then the other input (torch off). I love the fact that every update to this mod is packed with good ideas, even the QoL ideas are genius. Seriously, this is such a level of professionalism and commitment to making this mod so polished that it always amazes me how this can all be for free. My favorite feature is actually one, you did not mention. When you have two pieces of curved track, separated by only a single normal track piece, the track piece will try to better align with the slopes. This helps smooth out vertical inclines for trains.

Blocks like the 'copycats' have not been seen in mods or modpacks in years. Last time i saw something similar was back in 1.7.10 with the Carpenter's Blocks mod. I'm glad to see something like them return to the height of the modding scene. I just hope they resolve that crashing and corrupting issue since Carpenter's Blocks never had that and i'm sure with time they can find a solution.

The new scaffolding not collapsing when unsupported suggests to me that it might be in part intended for *catwalks,* which it'd definitely be quite well-suited to! Copycat panels could also be used for the same thing, but this solution strikes me as a bit simpler. EDIT: Also, that clipboard is the best thing ever. And the pumps no longer swapping direction based on rotation direction is... well, there's almost certainly some lost utility there, since reversing a pump by reversing rotation is almost certainly easier than reversing the pump by point a deployer at it, but speaking personally, literally every single time I've set up a pump with Create, I've wound up hooking it up backwards due to rotation direction, and I imagine I am *far* from the only person who regularly has this issue. So, I ain't complaining!

I can already feel like some of these implementations is to prepare for create aeronautics (or maybe I’m delusional after all this time waiting for it) I can already see the new doors and copy cat steps being used in airships BEAUTIFULLY.

A few things you missed to mention: - Pulse repeaters and alike now allow delays up to an hour (Previously only 30 minutes). Their interface now also splits into ticks, seconds and minutes with each going up to 60. - Train stations also have this door option like the elevator contact - Rollers may not have the block drop an item (I assume behaviour similar to a unenchanted tool) - This is an assumption, but I believe the flow rate of fluids in pipes was increased? - Smart observers can observe a funnel for any entering/exiting item, which afaik is new behaviour. - Stockpile switches can observe a rope pulley and tell its... length?
