Did you ever shoot a gorgeous image with your telescope and think: If only I could actually fly there? Today, I am going to show you how to transform any image into a three dimensional fly-through video clip.

Brilliant video. Your channel definitely deserves many more subscribers. I've never used video editing tools though, and felt a little overwhelmed at some point.

Video editing can feel like a challenge, though as far as the video side of things, it is mostly like photo editing if you are used to working with layer-based photo editing. Where it become different is dealing with the animation side of things where you work with points like keyframes. But if you can learn layer-based photo editing, you can definitely learn video editing.

Great video! Would love to see the super advanced video. I’m starting to try this process of fly throughs in DaVinci Resolve. I tried using fusion comps and pemitters and it came out okay. But yours is brilliant. I’ll give this a try.

Ohh! I love this! I’ve been using a similar method w/ space engine & starless images but I didn’t think of separating out into layers! Going to mess around with this

If you want to get ultra sophisticated, you can oriented Space Engine toward an astronomical object from the vantage of Earth, delete out key stars from your telescope image's star plate, and integrate the star video over the star plate, creating an even more convincing illusion.

Ace 🫡👌+1 Sub ❤ Thanks for the demo! Would you have any suggestions on the best way to transition to several different images in terms of effects, fading in and out etc? Cheers

If you are referring to creating images made of multiple layers, it is tricky to get a fade out to align properly with the various clips. The way to work around that is select all the clips and right click New Compound Clip (if using Davinci) and turn them into a single clip. That way they will fade uniformly in a pleasing manner into whatever the next clip is.

And 6 hours later I have 1 background, 1 layer that shows what in that layer an 4 layers that all have the same checkerboard pattern. I know Im missing something in the directions but havent got a clue what it may be.

How is your progress going with it? I think when you say checkerboard patterning, you are referring to the pattern that can show up as a result of your Bayer Matrix showing through? If so, there are several ways to deal with this. Shoot lots of subs and be sure to dither when shooting, and be sure to debayer when stacking. There is a good discussion on this at stargazerslounge[dot]com / topic / 337044-checkerboard-images (close all spaces to make the link work, or just copy and google it).
