Create a Container from STL file using Bambu Studio

Building on some of the skills from previous videos we are going to modify an STL file. In this case turning a skull into a container.

Well I got a question for you and hopefully you can help me out. I am printing some ghosts for my sister in law to hang in her tree. She asked if I could add a small loop or "hook" so she could tie a string to it so she can hang them. I was going to just drill a hole but would much rather have it look good with the hook. I do have fusion 360 but would love to try it in bambu studios if possible. Thanks if you can help out and maybe an idea for a video?

@@3Dprint4you Hey hey. That would be an interesting topic. Were you trying to make an external loop or internal loop? Bambu studio is up to the task either way There can be a few ways to do it so i'll to do a very easy way and with an advanced technique.

Nice work!! Id def do incremental layer height to smooth out the top of the skulls!

what’s the glue you’re using?

That was was plastruct's plastic weld. Most super glue types should work. That one was handy since it came with a brush.

What glue are you using

Hello, I was using a glue called Plastruct plastic weld. There are other types of glue that work as well from common super glue to pla glue.

I printed off a tray to hold my plates for my bambu labs X1. The tray has a back and a front. The parts with them slots for the plates at the top and the bottom are separate parts from the back in the front. My problem is the back and the front are approximately 20 mm too short for the plates to fit. My question is is it possible to adjust just the height of the back and the front in the bambu slicer.

Is the model publicly available? Normally I would just extend something with it's z height. Or split it with pegs, and print them separately.

@@ashleys3dprintshop thank you so much for responding. I am a very very beginner but I remember when I download it it said that you could edit it with 360 or something like that. I’m sorry for being so vague but I really don’t know much about this stuff I just got my printer and I’m trying to organize my room. Your video is very well done and informative. I didn’t know you could do anything in Spicer software.

@@Warpig639 🙂I will look up some build plate holders and see how they are assembled. Perhaps we can see a simple solution. I have a seen a few models and they look like they need to be printed at an angle. Here is a maker world example you could print that organizes the prints for you.
