That is possibly the most realistic faux beam I have ever seen. Well done!

Great job, brother! Something to consider: I've been making faux steel for a few years and, after painting it black, I do some light dry brushing with silver to really sell the steel look. I also often add rust effects. I appreciate you, Gene. -Rick, USMC

Thanks Rick, That a great idea. I really like the rust idea. I may have to go back and do that.

One idea is to create some sort of circular cuts on the ends to replicate growth rings and or heart wood. Awesome turn out though 👍🏼

Hi Gene! I was thinking it just needs a bit of weathering and a few greebles of copper tubing and, of course, a cog or two.

Now THAT is a great idea for a tiny home to keep the weight down while travelling. It's my dream but the prices have gone up waaaay too much so I'll have to build one myself? My son and I don't have those skills so... keep dreaming? Best wishes for 2025 from Belgium - Daniella.
@DIYGene3 күн бұрын
Hi Daniella, I think that would be a fun project. Someday I may make a tiny home trailer myself. How is the weather in Belgium?
@tufalike17963 күн бұрын
@@DIYGene Hi Gene, the weather is just HORRIBLE, solid grey sky for weeks now, icy cold and wet and windy. I am looking at tiny homes for years now and wouldn't mind a DIY project to cut the insane costs these days. (I did a lot of that in the past) But first... moving to the US and reunite with my son. Am excited to implement many of your projects... Have a wonderful day Gene and thank you for the many ideas 👋
