After paying for and completing this course I would like to share some pros and cons of the full course. Cons: - The teacher seemingly improvised a lot of this video. There was a lot of time spent fixing code that did not work to fill time for the lectures. - In one case, there was code that I could not get to work but somehow the teacher was able to make it work, upon moving on to the next video, the teacher had explained that he realized it didnt work, fixed the code off camera, and continued to progress without explaining. - The assets used are terrible. Although they are free, these are the same assets used throughout the paid class. The teacher will constantly convince you that something (mainly weapon posing or animations) "looks perfect" instead of showing you how to fix it. - The end product of the course is pretty underwhelming. Pros: - Great for getting a feel for the unreal engine workflow. - Because of the back and fourth of fixing broken code and reusing nodes, you start to become familiar with the work flow and are sometimes able to guess what to do next. - There were situations where code the teacher provided did not work the same for me, in which case, I was able to study where my code was messing up and find my own solutions. - The teacher does a decent job explaining each process. My final verdict would be to get what you can from the free videos he has posted on youtube and move on to another, preferably free, tutorial on youtube. I would recommend SmartPoly's ZombieFPS tutorial.

man why cant we just get some one thats going to do it right. i have smartpolys and im going to say on that one he has alot of bugs in his and he relly donot fix them his price for for what your going to build is not worth 50.00 ill say 20.00 just so you get a fell for it but hes discord he and any one that knows what there doing is not there to help or any thang so i would say dont wast your maney there ether

I have always been On The Job (OJT) type of learner just be doing. Schools seem to be more of listen then go figure it out on your own. Didn't end well there... lol

im doing something a little different but these tutorials help a lot i have an enemy class base and multiple different children of that class to make enemies look different but follow the same things in the base bp when i kill an enemy it adds to my kills count correctly using a gun but when i use a grenade it doesnt count the kills correctly can you cover a tutorial where destorying multiple actors at once adds to the kill count properly i want to add a money system to my game too but if the kill counts broken the money system will be too please help with this or point me ion the right direction once these systems work right i can release the demo version this one bug is the only thing preventing this

Are professional developers basically just using blueprints now when using Unreal Engine? I got frustrated learning Unreal through blueprints because it seemed time consuming to do the basic stuff to me, and like every single tutorial I see only deals with blueprints. I come from a Unity background and I found myself taking like 20 minutes to make a simple script in blueprint form when I know I could have typed everything out in C# in Unity in just a couple minutes. Is this the future of development?

Don't get me wrong, but there's a reason why these type of videos don't have sucess, it's because EVERY UE developer has at least 1 FPS tutorial. Why didn't you go for example FPS Adventure/Horror (like Resident Evil type game) or let's say racing game and etc.

It's not true first person, it instead uses a fixed set of arms similar to how most AAA games such as call of duty handle it.

You have made a thousand beginner tutorials already Let me guess.. You will make a few tutorials on how to pickup a coin, make a healthbar and take damage, make a little ui, and an enemy that can attack and die.. And then you will abandon the project again.. You should try and make a smaller complete tutorial series 🙂

im not gonna lie i took the free videos and its really bad its not easy at all too follow and i feel like he leaves out a lot of info more frustating than anything really not worth it. and trust me a lot of people already do this a lot so its nothing new, its my hoenst opinion, i got stuck on like the first video were im supposed to press play and the arms and gun we assmble are now "usable" nope spent 3 hours on the internet searching about this and nothing.

@@VirtusEdu Third person game platformer, I'm trying to work on one, the character I'm using isn't human. A game that's like a collectathon, similar to how Mario gets Moons or cat shines.

@@LOL1423derp92 A game kind of like one of the 3D Mario types of games, with some exploring and platformers, the character I built can use, however the character I built is actually a cat made of wool. My character can already use some moves like wall jump, to climb and can swim, and purr.
