Create a Freeform Epoxy Resin Wave using Rope, Plastic and a Cone.

This is my latest attempt at a freeform resin wave. Only this time, I used a rope to create the shape and a polystyrene cone to mould the curve.
As always, these videos are the results of my experimenting with resin. I like to share the process in order to help you get the most out of your resin and to hopefully, inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and get creative.
For this project, I opted for a purple wave, well we have seen lots of ocean coloured waves and I was looking for something a little different. As with all experiments, we learn by our mistakes and I hope by showing how I fix these mistakes, it can help you avoid them.

Oh Sue...I sure wish i was smart enough to discover this wonderment of acrylic diamonds added to resin pieces! I believe you’ve discovered an obsession in which all resin artists now have! So many people are using this technique that you started! Well done and thank you!!! I am just so in love with the effects that these diamonds have! I am still trying to master this sculpting technique though. I’m not a fan of using the glad wrap though! Grrrrr.... it is such a pain, mostly because I usually end up melting it into my piece! 😔

A warm room is better for resin, you get less bubbles and it is easier to mix. Although, you don’t want it too warm.
