In this video, I show you how easy it is to create an Epoxy Resin Beach, complete with natural sand and shells. I will show you how you can achieve white surf, too.
These two beach pieces inspired me from sitting on the beach with my family. I wanted to remind them of their trip from the UK to Australia. By using natural Western Australian sand, not only do they have something to remind them of their journey, but they also have a bit of Australia in their home.
If you enjoyed this video and it has inspired you for your project, please consider buying me a coffee. PayPal.me/suef.... Any donation helps to fund my channel.
For this project, I used the following items:
• Placemat from Kmart (Australia)
• Sand for the shores of Western Australia
• Liquid Glass Resin from U Resin: bit.ly/LiquidGl...
• Colour Obsession Pigment - Teal
• Artisue Pigment - Jade
• Artisue Pigment - Sapphire
• Le Rez Expressions - Angel White: bit.ly/lerezmat...
• Shells

You are a true artist Sue, thank you for sharing your talent. My autistic son was watching over my shoulder then he laid his head down on me, positively captivated. I had him out kayaking with dolphins by age 2 so the beach has deep meaning for us. You have inspired me, I will make a couple of these pieces for him. xx :)

My mother in law moved near the ocean last year and we went for a visit this summer. My boys are 5 and 7 and we wanted to make some kind of beach art, they collected a bag of sea shells and I think this would be the perfect thing to try for them to make this year for a christmas gift for grandma

Nice. Note, I wouldn't recommend allowing your children to work with resin. Resin is a chemical and many people have developed allergic reactions. My suggestion is to get your boys to glue the shells to a board. You could always add resin at a later date. 💕

Hi Sue, do the cells appear because of the pigment you used or is it from the resin? Great piece! I would love to try this!
@SueFindlay
@SueFindlay 5 жыл бұрын
It is a combination of both, I have found the Le Rez Angel White paste to be the best for making cells and lacing. Heat plays a big factor also, I find it more difficult in the winter to achieve cells and lacing. So the use of a blow torch definitely helps. Just be careful not to burn your resin when using heat. Plus, always wear the appropriate safety gear when torching. The thicker your resin, the harder it is to achieve cells and lacing as well.

Hi Sue, Im going to attempt this tomorrow. I was to curious to know how much pigment you put in each cup for one of these art pieces? Im so excited!!! Your work is amazing.
@SueFindlay
@SueFindlay 4 жыл бұрын
I don't use a lot, I don't measure it as such, I scoop about a quarter of a teaspoon. When mixed in the resin, lift your stick out and let it run back into the cup, you will be able to see if the resin is still transparent and if you need to add more pigment. 💕

Thank you Sue, you have inspired me to quit work and retire do resin art for art shows. I started in July I and I sold my first 3. I used real sand from Lake Superior but I use liquid glue to hold it together then I resin over everything. I am making 5 today for an art show this weekend. Thank you so much for you inspiration. I really need to order the white for the waves but I have not been able to get it as it has been on backorder. Waves are the hardest part for me. I find it not as easy as yo make it. I am a very messy resin artist. I have never worked with resin but once I got my fingers in it I was sucked in to the silkiness of the paint I was doomed. My 4 year old granddaughter said "Nana you just can't wait to get your fingers into the paint again can you". Out of the mouth of babes. Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Than you Sue. Inspirational as always! I have been planning to do the resin beach scene but the ideas were overwhelming for me. You make it look easy! Since I have the supplies will try this. Thanks for sharing.

This is amazing. The hardest part about moving from home is missing the beach. I can't wait to recreate this work and see the look on my moms face when she has a small part of her first love to cherish forever. 😍😍💞💞💞💞

Absolutely fantastic 👏👏👏 I’ve used the LèRez white & it’s better than any other. However, using a white tint “base” colour from Bunnings is truly phenomenal. I get the white & the black. They produce the most amazing cells in resin but also can be used in acrylics (adding Floetrol to it) it’s cheap as chips $7.80/300ml & 1/2 teaspoon in a full cup of resin will give a solid opaque finish. A little bit goes a long way. I did a piece for Shauna & James in Perth months ago. It’s a black & white 80cm lazy susan with fantastic cells.

I can almost hear the waves! Beautiful. Having 95% success on a small coaster, I am going to try again with a slightly larger base (recycling a paint pour that I didn't like). As always with anything, I procrastinate and get nervous (that's just me). I find watching a few experts do their 'thang', helps to get me in the zone and feel less anxious. I'm excited too as I received some new pigments & inks today!! Obviously I am still a beginner. Unfortunately I am also a perfectionist🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️..... Tyfs your creativity and invaluable skills. Might have to watch a few more videos before I begin, lol😁. C🌊🐾🐾

I am better on larger pieces, I don't get the right results on smaller stuff, so I don't bother. It is virtually impossible to get a perfect piece, so you are best to accept that it is not perfect and realise that to somebody else it will be perfect. The imperfections are what makes it unique, it shows that it was made by hand. If people want perfect, they can buy mass produced factory made stuff for a fraction of the cost. 💕
