Nice, thank you very much, I am setting this up now because I need to do a deep clean of my system on my main laptop (yes: Laptop, my desktop is broken and I don't have the time or money to fix it currently and now I've got a hacker on my laptop, the guy has taken over my main e-mail and my steam account...I need a clean system, so I can get this all fixed!), so a re-install is the only way to be sure IMHO!

I have a windows 10 laptop. I added Hiren's boot, but only Linux, Win 10 and Win 11 booted properly. Win 7 iso froze up and so did the Hiren's. Not sure why.

Dont use Etcher, it messed up 2 usb stick for me today. Both got blocked and read only. One of them I couldnt get back to normal even with command promt, registry or disk management. Had to use Rufus to make them work again.

No! It's the BIOS that decides the boot mode not Ventoy. The BIOS decides to boot Ventoy in Legacy BIOS mode or in UEFI mode. The above is a reply from google linked by ventoy's faq

It's Ventoy and no it does not. The ISO image has to be archived as bootable when created.

No... Ventoy is just to make multiple boot usb/ run live iso images. You need clonezilla , acronis to make clones.

Yes it is running from the USB it's just that you have to install it on the pc first, when ever you unplug the USB the os wont work cuz it's running from the USB.
