Another great video, Scott. One thing I’d add here is getting social proof before running ads. People are more likely to buy when they know the product is legit, effective, and other people enjoy it.

Yes, but I wouldn’t wait because you need sales and you gotta start somewhere 😀 Your conversion will be lower but you’ll get sales and reviews will come.

My shop was recently shut down with a 5star rating....on 16 sales in total.... a new shop. I had no reply from customer service and no help from etsy giving me any reason or leads. No customer service and no one to talk to.

Thanks. Great video. Question re Etsy Ads. I was told you shouldn't run ads until you make a few sales because people like to look at reviews and sales numbers. If you have zero sales and no reviews, people can be a bit apprehensive, and you turn out spending all your money on ads without getting sales. What's your thought on this?

You have to start somewhere and we start ads from day 1. Yes your conversions will be lower, but people will still buy without reviews.

Because I watched so many videos and I got indeed confused and I don't know from where to start. I don't have specific nich to sell. But as a graphic designer I have a lot of ideas about illustration, wall art, stickers, etc... I want to start selling only digital products for now. And I am not sure if that works well, or if i have to combine it with other Print-on-demands websites. I am afraid the shipping responsibility process, that's why i want to stick with digital downloads... Whats your opinion and suggestion on this?

I think you have an advantage being a graphic designer and you can easily create digital products for certain niches. That's the key though...finding a niche and then creating for these people.

Thanks for the video! I have a question, I opened or reopened lol a store 1 week ago, POD. I am gonna sell t-shirts and shoes, but I do not know if a niche is the way I draw. I draw cartoon styled stuffs, like kawaii or simple cartoon and magic creatures and things like that. So, this style t-shirts can be a niche? Because I do not really have a niche now, and if perhaps choosing children cloth would be better. Now I'm drawing for pride and I will start with spring/summer cute drawings, but I feel my store is too random, yes... it is a cartoon styled store, but I do not have any specific thing, only cartoons. Thanks!
