@@danielolaniyi9887For sure! at 1:54 is Patrick Tomasso (also know as Impatrickt) and he does amazing in depth cinema breakdowns as well as his own films! The man right after at 1:59 is Brady Bessette, a cinematographer that gives great content especially in terms of lighting. Not in the video but I would also recommend Rob Elis! He teaches a lot of cinematic concepts used in film and has practical guides to emulate the theory he presents!

I LOVE this tutorial. Sidenote (for the filmmakers like myself ballin on a budget) .Home Depot sells lights similar to the Aperture B7c's that you can control the color temperature from with an app on your phone and they cost less than half what you pay for the B7c's. The only drawback is they arent battery powered so you still need a power source. Thank you for this!!!! Especially for giving the percentages for your lighting settings. not too many channels share that! Your content is a godsend

I love love love your setup and the look it gives. I need to invest in a bigger modifier. I use an Amaran 60X and 2 Ulanzi Ice Lights. I haven't started posting videos yet with that setup. I love how it looks, my octo is small so the light is a little harsh but it works. I need to invest in a wider lens for that depth and figure out where to put practicals because I have none showing in the setup. Camera wise I used to have the blackmagic, the old pocket cinema cam but traded it for an Olympus EM1-X... it works for what i need it for but it wasn't the best choice.
@BrittneyJanae
@BrittneyJanae 6 ай бұрын
So what you can do also is with your small modifier put a white bed sheet in front of it to soften it even more. The depth isn't about how wide the lens is but the aputure. what do you already have? also what's your setup as far as background?
@RumbaniNdhlovu
@RumbaniNdhlovu 6 ай бұрын
@BrittneyJanae Funny thing is I knew about the white blanket especially with book lighting tutorials but never thought about actually using it. I'm definitely going to try it out. It'll definitely soften things up alot. Yeah, my lens' aperture is not small/high enough for the space I have, its between f4 - f5.6. But I have done a shallow ish depth of field before, i just need to rearrange my living room every time I shoot. My background is literally a white wall with the 2 Ulanzi icelights hitting it with different colors. They are rgb lights and they hit really nicely. Once I post the video I'm editing, I'll put the link here incase there's pointers for my setup that you'd have from observation. For my background, I did collect wood palettes but I gave them away recently. I think the palette idea was going to work really well, I jist need to figure it out. I do have some fairy lights, the warm white ones that can pair well with the palettes to give it that rustic look. I just need ro work with what I got.
