For clarity, I really like how you explained everything. Your delivery of this information was concise, and clear to understand. The feedback below is just what I felt could help with digesting your information. The style of moodboard and result is really powerful way of presenting it. Of all the moodboard explantions I have seen, I think you have the best one. Feedback: When you switch over to the moodboard shots and showing the actual footage. Let it stay for a while, as switching back to you quickly doesn't have an added value. We are simply here to see your moodboards and how they are used. Those shots went by so fast, you could hardly look at the moodboard and see the resulting shots. Let it breathe a bit, there is no rush, this is not MTV. Take for instance at 4:49. You flash the text so fast, we can't actually read it. Leaving the text on screen for a while has no negative effect. I had to rewind and pause the text so I could actually read it, so is the same when you show examples of moodboards. Realize that you as a talking head isn't important in the context of what you are explaining. Basically, you could leave the booardboard up as you speak about your point, as we have a visual reference as you explain, because when you take it away, and continue to explain your point, we no longer have that reference to "see" what you mean by it, and that is important. At 7:15, you are so quickly back to you, we don't get a good moment to digest what you are saying and processing what is on screen. At 7:28, as you continue to explain on the "bluer side of things". Right there having the moodboard shot still up, would have been really good to continue to "see" what you mean. So in this instance I had to go back and watch the images and think about what you were saying.

cool beans. the problem that many people may encounter is that there is no simple formula but rather a lot of different research and development activities that happen before you even touch the equipment. A lot of us novices just want to jump in and 🎬. ultimately, i wind up with a lot of accidental media where i say to myself “wow. it almost seems like i actually knew what i was doing”

So moodboarding is when you give an overall viewpoint of how you want the visuals. Storyboarding focused on chronological order scene by scene of the frame and how you want it shot. The moodboard is more visual and the storyboard is more focused on the frame you’re shooting. Let me know if that makes sense
@PatrickGregoryDaniels8 ай бұрын
@@BrittneyJanae totally 👍🏿 one’s more general in the direction of vibe/aesthetic while the other is chronologically organizing actual frames

What's your thoughts on Art List? Does frameset or shot deck have free options?
@BrittneyJanae2 ай бұрын
Artlist is great! It’s pricey but literally has everything you need! They just added AI voiceover and they have LUTs on there for your footage. I get all my sound effects and music off of it! So it’s my go-to. Frameset and ShotDeck does not have free options but their are other options to find inspo that is free. I can’t remember them all but good free film inspiration

I'm always afraid sometimes to do mood boards for clients because I'm trying to add images to show the TYPE of shots that I want and they may look at it as the color and STYLE of shots that I will deliver. How do you get around that?
@BrittneyJanae8 ай бұрын
So you could use text to help with that. So for instance in big bold text one page may say lighting and then put images on how you want lighting and you can even explain the look you’re going for to help the images (do that all on your board), the next page could be shot angles or composition, and do the same, post images or videos that will show how and what you want to shoot, and then do one for color and find images that show the mood and tone you want. Hope that helps?

What is the difference between a moodboard and a storyboard? Thank you for this video though
@BrittneyJanae8 ай бұрын
A storyboard gives a more chronological detail of the scene. A moodboard is more of an overview while a storyboard focuses shot by shot in detail of frame. Hope that helps.

Hmmm, what is the difference between moodboard, storyboard and treatment
@BrittneyJanae8 ай бұрын
A storyboard is more of a order of sequence format, usually showing each scene that needs to be shot in order. A moodboard usually is just inspiration images to visually show your idea A treatment is a summary of the overall project! So it’s not just focused on the cinematography but moreso every aspect involved such as characters, story, theme, mood and etc. For cinematographers normally we’re creating the lookbook aka the moodboard, and the shot list with the director and sometimes the storyboard if they don’t have an artist for that.
