Ingredients You'll Need:
EDTA Disodium (Chelating Agent)
LABSA 96% (Surfactant)
SLES 70% (Surfactant)
CDEA (Foam Booster and Stabilizer)
CAB 35% (Foam Enhancer and Skin Irritant Reducer)
AEO-9 (Fatty Polyoxyethylene Ether)
Sodium Chloride (Thickener)
MIT (Preservative)
Fragrance
Dye or Colorant
Formulation Steps:
Aqueous Phase Preparation:
Add 157.6g of deionized water into a clean mixing vessel.
Stir in 4g of EDTA Disodium (2% of the formula) until fully dissolved.
Adjust pH with 1.3g of caustic soda for optimal performance.
Surfactant Phase:
Add 10g of LABSA 96% (5% of the formula) and stir until dissolved.
Incorporate 16g of SLES 70% (8% of the formula) and mix thoroughly.
Add 8g of CAB 35% (4% of the formula) and blend well.
Stir in 2.4g of AEO-9 (1.2% of the formula), ensuring complete dissolution.
Add 3g of CDEA (1.5% of the formula) for foam stability.
Final Additions:
Mix in 5g of fragrance (0.25% of the formula).
Add 2g of MIT preservative (0.1% of the formula).
Gradually incorporate 1.4g of sodium chloride (0.7% of the formula) to achieve desired viscosity.
Finally, add dye or colorant and mix until fully blended.

Yesterday I made this formulation. It was looking excellent, i noticed "for me" the Salt wasn`t required coz it was already very thick. Secondly, when i checked the PH when the formulation was completed, the PH was horribly on the lower side, so i added more NaOH to get to 7-8. Your formulation is very good, but i will add a bit of "Optical Brightener" to that.

Sometimes, the pH level of the formula can be affected much by the purity of your ingredients. For example, if the purity of the caustic soda you use is below 98.5%, then you need more to neutralize LABSA in the formula. And yes if you have more budget in the formula, adding some Optical Brighter CBS-X will help to enhance its performance.

Yes, you are right. They are the same.

@@yeserchemicals can be the same as Polyoxyethylene Nonylphenol (NP-9) , because also NP-9 have no electric charge in water

@@salumurajabu80 yes NP-9 has the same functions in the formula. However, NP-9 is banned in many regions as it's non-environmentally friendly. AEO-9 is an eco-friendly substitution for NP-9 and NP-10.

Hi dear, to modify this formula for automatic laundry washing machines, you need to lower the SLES content to 8%, and increase the AEO-9 content to 1.5%, and add 0.3% anti-foam agent. Well, in this case, the viscosity of the final product won't be very high. If you want to have very high viscosity (above 2000 Pa·s), then you may need to add some HPMC.

@@knl6319 yes you are right. AEO-9 is an alcohol after all. And alcohols tend to decrease the thickness of surfactant-based solutions. That's also the reason why most fragrances also make our solutions thinner, as they mostly contain alcohols (dipropylene glycol, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl mesylate, etc) as solvents.
