This is the quickest and most clear explanation, thank you! But why does blender makes everything so convoluted and unintuitive like this, why not just click "save to library" like every other software. This is isn't a library, it's just an append interface

Thanks for the concise explanation. One query though. What if there's an object made of separate parts. eg. a car with separate components (wheels, chassis, doors, dashboard, etc)?

I haven't tested that, maybe you can parent them before marking as an asset

The assets( mesh with materials ) preview show only gray in asset browser, do you have the way to solve it in 4.1?

how do you drag a new window in????😕
@greboge
@greboge 3 ай бұрын
Its kinda of tricky until you get the hang of it, you need to aim towards the corner of the current windows, a different mouse pointer will apear, then you hold the mouse buttom and drag

Is this the only workflow tho?? cuz im not a fan of it. I don't want to have to duplicate my whole file every time. And I have a pbr material library that I don't want to duplicate some textures, where as some I DO want to have packed in the blend. This doesn't really give me control over that. I really want to learn how to use the asset browser to its full potential if anyone can point me in the right direction please. thank you
@greboge
@greboge 9 ай бұрын
You could probably just point blender to multiple directories where your orignal files are, then you would not need to duplicate files. I do this way because I prefer to have all my "source" files in the same place
@Riley_Christian
@Riley_Christian 9 ай бұрын
@@greboge Thats what ive found out. To be fair, if I was more organized, it probably wouldn't be a big issue lmfao. Messing with all my file organization will be mess, but luckily I suppose it won't be moving forward now. Just a big change to my workflow. Thanks ;)

It doesn't use resources to keep it in the library, only when you put in your scene that will need to be rendered

If you want people to learn this you need to slow down and point out what you are clicking. You open windows without explaining what you did. If you dont want to do these videos, dont. I dont care how anyone else learns, its how things are tought. Im wasting my time constantly rewinding to see what you did. Such a waste of time

I'm sorry this is not the style that you like your tutorials, there are plenty videos out there with a slower pace, you can watch those if you prefer. I tend to see that most blender users like a more straight forward approach! Have a nice day!

Which version of Blender are you using? It may be helpful to try a different version and see if it shows up. In Blender 3.6, if you go to File Paths and scroll all the way down, it should show up near the bottom - but it might not display until you scroll down.
