Very good tutorial, you explain everything without going too much into detail, just to the point. Thats what I like! Keep it going!

Your tutorials are for automation in animation, motion graphics and design what videocopilot`s are for realistic compositions techniques! lso I really learn a lot on shape layers. I started to use them more and more after I discover your channel!! Thanks and keep up the amazing work!!

Is there a way you can make a video showcasing how you slant the after effects view like you did in your thumbnail?

Awesome tutorial and the use of expressions! I've been looking for a menu like this for a while. Could you give us a direction on how you would show new content in the area above the menu that corresponds to the button you are on. Thanks!

Is there a way to translate this to Quicktime? To make it similar to an interactive DVD menu? Thanks!

Just curious what did you end up using this project for? I'm trying to figure out how you'd use this in a video project. Very informative. Thanks!

I used it to create to demonstrate UI graphics in a video. However, I can see this being useful in many things. Things like creating sports menus similar to something you'd see on ESPN or Fox Sports. I mainly wanted to show how much time expressions and master properties can save. Thanks for watching the tutorial, Jeff!

If anyone gets stuck on "master properties" about 17:00 in, it looks like it was renamed to "Essential Properties" so when you check out the timeline looking for "master properties" to link the animation you'll find under Essential Properties. I'm a noob so no need to @ me if this was common knowledge at this point.

Anyone have any suggestions to create a mogert which would allow me to change the time between "0" points of the text boxes? Trying to time this menu against a weekly video and if there was an option for duration i could quickly set each segment in premier pro opposed to cutting/holding frames, etc.. Open to suggestions.

How did you make that 3D BG? I tried getting it from the .ae file but it was already flattened. I've tried rotating shape layers in 3D with different lights but I'm not satisfied with the results.

Really good tutorial, thanks so much! I adapted it with some extra code so that each button has an in and out animation that gets played depending which side the selector is on, instead of playing the same sequence in reverse. An interesting learning experience! kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZpOnin2XrtdjfdU
