Brilliant. There is so much to learn from this tutorial and it’s a generous project resource to make available. Thank you

@@KowProdMedia I actually put them there on purpose as a joke. I don't really care about view counts, only that the people who see the video get helpful info, so it was supposed to be a bit of tongue in cheek humor. Now I'm wondering how many people will think they are real. :-/

A little bit speedy, but amazing how it could be easy to handle with pie charts in AE. THX
@hvntr2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely amazing! The idea behind this is very smart and I love the fact that one can use just pure data (as in csv) to run and create graphics. I'm already thinking how to implement this to bar charts that have absolute values and how to draw specific amount of horizontal lines for the graph based on the maximum value of the tallest or longest bar.

Really nice tut, I like how you made animation, didn't see this before, multiplying on slider which goes from 0 to 1, really clever.
@AndrewMarston3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Serge. I use this trick of multiplying values by a slider that's animating from 0 to 1 fairly often.

I've built something a little more complicated. If you want I can share so you can make a second part for this tutorial

Thanks Gersi that's very generous. I would be interested to see your rig. Maybe easiest to use the contact form on UkraMedia.com and make sure to add something like "Attn: Andrew". Indeed this tutorial is just a starting point. I didn't want to overwhelm people who are new to some of the concepts, but also realized that expression gurus like yourself might be bored. Perhaps a follow-up video would be helpful. Looking forward to seeing what you came up with.

@@AndrewMarston well, I need to comment some code since its a mess right now and even I cannot understand what I've done 😂. But, basically, Its the same concept as yours except I've added labels and values around the chart connected by paths to the middle outer radius of each slice. Anyway, I will send you the project as soon as I comment it...
@AndrewMarston3 жыл бұрын
@@Pro_DataHa! I actually had this same thing rigged so labels and slice values stuck to the center of each slice, but deleted it because I didn't want the tutorial take an hour. No worries if it's a pain to send your project, but if you do I would be curious to see how you ended up calculated the label positions.

Is it a color palette on the left hand side of AE?!

Yes, it's a plugin called Labels 3 on Aescripts, used for quickly changing layer label colors.

Nice! I was just wondering though why, when you add the progress to the piechart-1 expression (14:15) you need to copy the expression and paste it to the different layers? Instead of duplicate piechart-1 like you did before when creating the expression? Or better said, why won't the progress animation work on all layers when you duplicate them?

Does anyone know if there is a way to link it to a google sheet? Or link it to data on a website that auto updates?
@lucaswaldron54482 жыл бұрын
Awesome tutorial. Anybody in the comments know how to take this one step further and animate between two different columns of data in a csv spreadsheet? For example, let's say I want the first data point to be 15% of the pie at the first keyframe, but increase to 25% of the pie at the second keyframe (and all of the other data points would obviously be shifting, as well). If I have the data already baked into my csv, is there a way to easily keyframe this?
@mindcheck20102 жыл бұрын
Good question. May be it could be some kind of ‘linear’ or ‘ease’ expression that went from one columns value to another?
